I used and overused.

I don't draft him anymore.

He's very helpfull to go to play-off. Useless to win it.

1/ He's exploding too often. He's not a very good pitchers. In regular season there's no impact. In game 5, it's dramatic.
2/ You need ace pitchers to win. AT least two under .210 OAV.

Stay away from him.

I have had mixed results in the postseason with him. I have seen him dominant, and also very poor...

He's taken me to a league championship and a berth in the TOC final. He's the most dominating player in the sim. I'm sure his new price will reflect that.

I think most people would argue that. However, few people would disagree that he's one of the best values.

He's much more useful if you have him as part of a 1/2a/2b and your 2a can be your #1 starter in the playofs

I should have clarified... at about $100m cap and below, he's... etc.

I avoided him for a long, long time, but now have a first-place team using Caruthers and Hecker together.

And next comes the 2009 update, and that will be the end of the diminutive dominator in all future low-cap leagues...

I'll probably draft him more when his price goes up.

I agree with this especially with the fatigue in the TOC being more similar to the regular season than the playoffs.

I think you define low-cap leagues differently than I do... I think I've only ever seen him once in a low cap league before...

low cap being anything below $80m... mid-cap being $80-120m... and high cap being anything above $120m. I think Caruthers will still be quite dominant at the mid-cap level, and still useless in both the low (too costly) and the high (not good enough).

You would...

I'm guessing Bob's gonna get a raise to $20-21M...That's gonna create a bit of a salary crunch at $80M. Still affordable in a $100M league without a DH...He's $17.2M now...

I'd actually be surprised if he cracked $20m. I don't think he was priced too far off now, factor in the normalization of fielding you get by having an 1880s pitcher on the mound and I'd guess somewhere around $18.5-$19.5m for his 1886 season.

I rode Caruthers to a TOC finals (8-1 in the TOC -- although the TOC I did win I did not have him), but I have not had as much success with Hecker in the regular season. If Parisian Bob is under $20mil I will still be drafting him.
