Weird

I have had him getting killed in almost any cap now???

...someone posted a thread awhile back which seemed to show a dramatically sudden drop in in game fatigue for real relief pitcher types (low IP/G) in LIVE games...

...obviously SIM Eck is being killed by BB...could be they are so high because his fatigue is dropping so fast...

...the 2000 martinez is the only genuine SP with numbers like the great relievers, and he costs about the same as super bob per IP...

I've enjoyed him in an 120 million Rickey Henderson tribute league (so NOT your typical OL, all years from Rickey and his various teamates). Still pretty good:

Lots of two inning saves. No runs allowed since about the 90th game of the season. Was in fact the key component to my team capturing the pennant.

He's been business as usual for me.

My experience using him in live games is that the opposite is happening. The first walk hurts his fatigue, and the second crushes it. He's still been solid overall for me, but I need to have another closer on hand to finish up if he has to face more than four batters.

His in-game fatigue has always been horrible. But in live leagues that's easy enough to monitor. Here he is for me in a 100M live league, Yankee Stadium (II) (HR LF/RF:0/0 1B:0 2B:-1 3B:-1) after 150 games:

69 3-1 7 67.2 1.46 .141 0.65 6.78 1.46 5.02M

No complaints from me.

Not great, but not horrible. Drops to like 74% after 16 or so pitches.

Well, horrible in comparison to every other pitcher who costs over $5M (except 2003 Gagne).

Eckersley's an RP. Not many RP's are over $5mil. Almost every other pitcher over $5mil who you use in relief is a low IP SP. Eck's in-game fatigue is average IMHO.

On the flip side, this thread makes me optimistic at least about selecting him for other leagues.

S.Musial remains in the game at LF.
D.Eckersley enters the game to pitch.
J.Dimaggio remains in the game at RF.
E.Young flies out to RF.
J.Keppinger enters the game as a pinch-hitter for D.Rasmussen.
J.Keppinger grounds out to 2B.
D.Dellucci grounds it thru the hole to LF for a single.
HRN.Garciaparra crushes a 2-run homer to CF.
B.Ruth strikes out on a ball out of the zone.

can't make heads or tails of his struggles. 78 games deep too.
