in fact...no theme league guys are on that list at all...its all open leaguers

95% of these guys would not make the top 25 if they were themers. ncmusician is one of the 5% Ash is another. But until you can do it in a theme league with regularity I think the list is over rated and carries little weight.

I don't mind OLs or people playing them... I just take to guys who challenge themselves by playing in leagues with restrictions.

Well I'll just pick my jaw up off the floor - my name is on a list that I didn't have to create myself or find at the local Post Office !

I don't think the list is at all meaningless, it's just limited in its scope. I suspect a lot of guys who dominate the theme leagues used to be on that list regularly...until they ventured off into the more challenging themes.

Once you pick up a team or two in the progressive leagues and start rebuilding them from scratch, you won't go near the top 25 list for a long time. (I should know, I have three of them.)

agreed, brad... i was on the list for my first two years... reached 5100 at one point... then tried the themes. hasn't been the same since. still, the open leaguers are savvy and competitive. used to be ron boone, now its glen rice. used to be oscar, now its nash. used to be wilt or hakeem, now its moses. used to be jerry lucas, now its rodman. it's all good.

and i like the progressives and regressives. i sometimes jump back into an open league, and though i don't like agreeing with ash on too many things, he's right about 1 in 5... for me, about 1 in 6 now. i can still do it, but it takes me 50.00 for a ring.

i'd rather play with the guys who are creative in other ways.

I have a feeling my regressive team is going to keep me deep deep in the cellar for a while

You're welcome!! I spent a good 5-6 seasons trying to get them turned around and I never could. I have about 4-5 progressive teams right now and am starting to try to cut back. Started with the worst.

Yeah my owner rating and all-time win% took a huge dip when I joined the UPL and took over quite a bad team. But it was so much fun that I immediately ceased caring even one iota about owner rating (which I never really did anyway) and win percentage (which I DID).

The draft leagues are the most fun thing on this site to me... it's like, I'm not only interested in seeing how my team does, I'm interested in seeing how EVERY team does. I get excited by someone picking a really good team, and even more so when they follow through on my expectations.

If you ever need a gay forward draft gin ceasar

Hey LTB is it time once again to fire up the Joes not Pros League again? It is a very anti-cookie cutter league for the most part. I have dominated that last 2 seasons of that League winning both times including a 2nd place finish, and a 4th place showing . . . LOFL. I'm getting sick of myself!

The sign-up thread is now up for v4, vance. Get the ball rolling!

(2) Besides, if you decided to actually try and backing up the nonsense you said at the beginning of this thread, I'd join that said open league, so I know at least one team that would slaughter you.
(1) What kind of odds would I have to give u for u to man up and bet that I can't win more than 20% of the OL I enter?

(2) You slaughter me in a $42M no restrictions league? ROFLMAO

neither are u ash...

again, u implode over a few words that someone here says. u do a lot of talking in these forums and u toot your own horn so often, i'm impervious to it now, however, no one badgers u about it.

your buttons get pushed easily. i enjoy your evals and i enjoy your take on the sim. i like how u figure things out and offer your tidbits. i wish u wouldn't run through other's opinions.

ok, i'll go jump in the lake now...

didn't realize I acted like I thought I was a god or tooted my own horn that much. I think my record can speak for itself that I'm a decent owner, but it ain't nothing spectacular. And I don't reckon I claim to be. I do have a lot of knowledge about the sim, though, and I try to share what I learn.

If that comes across as bragging, sorry. I don't have much to brag about, though, as I haven't won much in a long time. I think I've won one league in the past 6 months.

Hey maybe I should draft less threes. I'm sure that'll help...
