I agree with Boog. No one gets "screwed" by a reset series. The outcome of reset games (or series) are independent of each other.
Technically, and logically, you're absolutely right. You can't deny it FEELS wrong, though, if you were up 2-0, then get the games negated, only to replay the series and lose. There should be greater care taken to avoid this happening again.
My point exactly. If a WC team goes up 2-0 on the best team in the league, then loses a reset series, I doubt the owner will be satisfied since he should have lost anyway. His team "earned" (again, obviously not the same as in RL) those wins and deserves to have that edge.
I often test out my playoff matches using SIM Matchup. I have even gone through the trouble, at times, of figuring out my opponents rookies and drafting them on a faxcimile of their team to get as realistic as possible. When I have tested my team versus the faxcimile, I have often found my team is better. Once I went 7-0 against a playoff opponent before I lost... But in the real sim my team lost 2-4. Did I get screwed by chance? Probably. Did I "earn" a victory that the sim took away? Absolutely not. Winning in a practice run means nothing. Your situation is quite the same.
