Yeah, the ancient Greek Draco had the same problem....When he created what is reputed to be the first set of laws, he assigned Death as the penalty for almost every crime.

When asked why, he replied that he felt that the lesser crimes deserved it, and he didn't have anything worse than death to give out for the more serious crimes.

Hence, the term "draconian"

truemen, don't take it personal, a thief will steal just to steal.  Pray that this is the worst thing you ever get stolen in your life. Get a new bike, lock it up more securely, and don't waste one more minute thinking about the idiot who did this.......
