80 million cap

1903 jack Taylor

1904 Jack Taylor

2005 Pedro Martinez

Put a half way decent team around them, put them in the Astrodome and BINGO your in the playoffs

Guess I'll have to give up the season after all. I always think in terms of cost-effective when I think about "the best." I live and die by the `19 Alexander for $9.56 MM, who never disappoints. He is 21-5 for one of my $80 MM OL teams right now. Plenty to recommend the `18 Alexander as a good closer, too, when used sparingly, for a mere $1.15 MM.

Bud4875 knows whereof he speaks -- he just took me in 7 games of a TOC semifinal by throwing Jack Taylor `03 at me relentlessly. Doc White `06 is also plenty good.

I think should be
1903 Jack Taylor
1904 Jack Taylor
2005 Pedro
I have had the miss fortune of playing against this lineup more then I would like to say.

With all the Jack Taylor manlove you'd think someone would mention the best season of his. Taylor '02 is my pick right now for absolute best sim stud SP bargain.

I do lead a charmed life. Thank you. Normally I don't comment on stuff like that. Sorry if you're offended that I commented - it just seems like you might want to take the time to figure it out as opposed to having somebody tell you exactly who to pick, you pick them and win with them. Is that really rewarding?? To each his own. Best of luck to you.

the '19 alexander is good but really isn't that cost efficient at $35,150/ip. The '05 cy young puts up extremely similar and for a little over $33000/ip. There are a bunch of other players with similar stats to the '19 alexander and is around 32-33k/ip.

I was personally thinking of the 1926 alexander, which is a huge bargain if u put him in a hr- park.

Hmm, the question was absolutely the best-- not best value. I don't think this is a tell me what players to draft type question. I am going with '95 GM, '00 PM and the top 2. Not sure about #3 tho.

Yeah, I'd have to go with the grizz on this one... Joss, Walsh, and Pete Alexander are all solid if you don't want the clones...

I stand by '08 Joss. When I play high caps, he always outperforms Walsh, Alexander, Big Train.

I still rank '00 Martinez #1. He'll give up the HR, but at years end he always has the best numbers.

Then, for me, it's a toss-up with '08 Joss & '95 Maddux.

Agreed. Give me one game to win and I'll take 00 Pedro in a -HR park anyday.
