what are the most impt pitching stats Topic

I use ERC+, OAV#, HR/9+, bb/9#, and BB/9+ as primary search settings.

Definitively this answer is correct.

Agree with redwingscup and zubinsum. I'd add that some variation of ERA does seem to affect XBH and might be important in some parks, and that if you're looking for one stat that can be used to quickly narrow things down a bit, ERC# and ERC+ work well.

A while back admin published the decision trees for determining the results of PAs... ERA plays no part.

ERA (or ERC I dont know) is used to determine if a hit is a double or triple. It is a small factor (15% and 12%) but it is used.

I thought so too, but according to admin's presentation, it doesn't.

I can't find my copy of that power point but I am almost positive if you go to the "pricing" slide, ERA is in the category of what effects pricing.

You are correct. Pitchers are priced by ERA or its derivitives. That is why miscalculated ERCs led to an underpricing of '06-'08 pitchers (at one time).
