I looked at him, I think the real reason why he's tough to use is that every other pitcher with hitting chops went up as well.

Before the update, hecker and caruthers cost 31-32, now 36-37

I tried to see what I could do, I just couldn't get anyone I liked in the offense after I added my bullpen, I was around 45 mill on pitching.

I am happy they did the change in the end. I am in a world series under the old system, and we pretty much have the same team. Jefferies, Williams, Caruthers are our core players.

It was time to change because every team was pretty much the same. I actually have to investigate again. it's not just "ok, lets get 86 caruthers and 93 phillips and go from there" no matter what stadium I played. Now it's "ok this team will play in royals stadium. get 26 gherig and 07 granderson and go from there" or insert whatever combo you want for each stadium...stategery is back!!!

I picked up Caruthers - 1885 a few days ago and promised an update. I hoped he would spark things.

5 games started .. 22 Inn pitched .. ERA =11.86 .. W="0," L="5."

I'm still pretty satisfied after 141 games

Yes, he is the $17M version ... but since we played the entire season so far under the new update, I believe it is comparable to how he'd perform at $19M.

Perhaps since my team that is in that $80M league would now cost upwards of $88M, I'd argue that he would pitch (and hit) even better vs a current $80M team ... although he would not have the same bullpen and hitting support.

By the way, his hitting stats ...
