Giants stink in the SIM Topic

I've never had a problem with Giants teams in franchise leagues. They have always been competitive and I'm pretty sure I've won a couple times with them.

But I've played in multiple franchise theme leagues with SF Giants based teams and have never had any success. I wonder if the players not fitting the ballparks has anything to do with it.
i think that you might be on to something with this. having guys like bonds and mays in a -3/-3 HR park at at&t obviously hurts you when your prob spending 20 million on the two of them. i think arvy's team will have alot of success with avg and 3b there rather than having the normal giants greats

Historically the Giants have a bad history of quality infielders
(2b ss and 3b) So it would make sense that they are unproductive in the sim. That's why they traded George Foster for frank Duffy, put Dave Kingman at 3rd and why Willie mays has ratings at ss and 3b for 1964,

Good point when referring to franchise teams. You'll notice my 60's team is rounded out with likes of Hunt and Pagan and a couple power hitting mediocre catchers (Dietz and Bailey) because they were the best available. Even the mediocre players are underperforming their mediocrity. But it doesn't explain why Mays, McCovey, Bonds (Dad and son), Clark, Williams, Kent, Cepeda, Ott, etc. seem to be notorious underperformers - which was my original question/statement. FYI, my 60's team is playing in Candlestick - which was the field McCovey hit 45 HR's in, so saying it's a bad stadium for them doesn't make much sense.

In a progressive where Willie Mays has won 6 of 7 MVP's. Maybe just leaving him in his own era is the best thing to do.
