There have been a few questions about how one goes about re-creating a season in history where there aren't enough players from a team to complete a 25-man roster.
Here's our suggestion for doing so. Let's say we want to re-create the 1901 season. None of the 16 teams have 25 eligible players since players back then ate up more of the plate appearances and innings than they do in the modern era.
Create a theme league and white list the 1901 batters and pitchers (we do the full/partial variety). Then, whitelist the 1902 batters and pitchers for the filler.
When building your roster, you can quickly load a historical team from 1901 by selecting the team from the list in the Draft Center and clicking the "Load Team" button. Depending on the team, you'll have a few roster spots to fill in order to reach 25 players.
This is where you use the scrubs from the 1902 season. Click on the roster spots to fill, select the 1902 season range in the player search and choose the cheapest players available.
Once your team is in the league, assign the 1902 players to rest and they won't play during the season (assuming you have assigned proper pitch counts to your pitchers).
This model allows you to replay a historical season. And there are several other options available in the Theme League Wizard to provide even more control of ballparks, unique franchises, etc.
We hope this quick run through helps.
