Why would they delete the ticket? Do they need to get rid of the evidence? If they bothered to check this thread they would see it posted here.

That was absolutely the most ridiculous thing I've read... and I've read many, many ridiculous things.

Here's what they should have said originally:

"Nick,

Our sub logic is really whack.  There's a gigantic flaw in our engine in that it really doesn't know what to do in any given situation.  We're sorry you wasted your money.  Please give us more so we'll not make any positive changes to the game."

This would have been much more apt.


Remember when I had an issue with them putting Chuck Person at Center?  When I had 2 players on the roster that could have played there... all they had to do was put Person at PF (where he is 100% effective) and slide someone from PF over that WAS 100% effective?

I have two comments to make, and both of which I'm pretty sure are 100% true:

1)  They don't know how the sim really works
2)  They don't understand anything resembling logic

The two go hand in hand.

Norbert deleted (not closed) a ticket on me once. I bought a CRD team with reward points and after playing in the current season, I decided to reneg my purhcase and get either the $ or reward points back. Well Norbert was trying to tell me that it never happened, that I never had those reward points to begin with and that I didn't purchase that team (which I begged the question, how did it get there?). After browbeating him for about 5 back-and-forths he finally "refunded me, then deleted the ticket. I may be a lot of things, but one thing I'm not is a conman or a scheister.

Sly was it completely deleted or closed, I'm curious. I'll bet it was really deleted.

It's almost like they think since they created the sim, that everyone should like it regardless...and that's just not setting proper expectations. Sometimes you have to own up to the faults and flaws of your "invention(s)" (God knows I have), fall on the sword, admit there's something wrong, fix it, and move forward with a better product. With normal people or businesses, criticism makes the product better...you have to consider ALL criticism or you're not doing your work or your company, justice.

And trust me, I get the arrogance, the supreme confidence, the "I'm right, you're wrong" attitude...I think that's the nature of creation/invention, but perhaps what trumps all of those are self-awareness and self-reflection which WIS has ZERO. I've literally never encountered/dealt with a more crass group of people than most if not all employees at WIS. I've told seble and perhaps others before...if you were in a face-to-face business, you'd be out of business, period. They must hire a bunch of guys with small peepees there...that's really the only explanation.

And lastly ash...I agree with your 2 final assessments and I'm reminded of Sunday's countless runtime errors where tzentmyer posted and said we're not exactly sure what happened but it was something under the hood but now it's fixed. Seble has said the same thing in regards to the new HD update as well....something like I didn't change X factor in the game so I'm not sure why it isn't working properly. It's like, you've got to be effing kidding me...nothing like instilling confidence in the playership. An argument I've made since at least 2005 is that their sims are too complex for their own good and I think it's instances like these that prove that I'm right.

I had a similar situation happen a couple months ago, where I submitted a ticket because my mopup group came in, and I was ok with the five people the SIM chose (why can't we just set a "mop-up team", though?), but because it (for reasons that only make sense to the engine) wanted to avoid playing people at positions where they had depth chart minutes (since, you know, those are the actual positions they play), it ended up playing guys at wacky positions.  I had a PG playing SG (not 100%), a SG playing PG (not 100%), a SF playing C (not 100%), when in actuality, using the same five players, you could have constructed a lineup where everyone was 100% at their position.

My bad, it was just closed.  I didn't include the Closed tickets in the filter.

here's something else that's bullshit.

I have antawn jamison at SF.  Antawn gets in foul trouble.  So the guy at #2 on my DC, Leon Powe, plays extra minutes.  I'm cool with this.  This is the way it's supposed to work.  This is how any normal coach in the real league would want things to go... your #2 guy plays more when your #1 is in trouble.  This makes sense.

And is completely contradictory to the load of crap they answered your ticket with.

That exchange between sly and WIS was probably one of the worst defenses/excuses for a product I've ever seen...they literally weren't addressing ANYTHING he was remotely talking about.

This is exactly what I think. I put a guy at #2 because he is the backup. That is the role of the #2 guy on the DC, am I wrong? If I want John Stockton to play backup SG, I'll effing put him in my depth chart there. Let me coach how I want and quit assuming that I don't want my #2 guy to play extra minutes.

The lack of updates is beyond ridiculous considering all the problems w/ the sim. And the 09-10 players still not out is just crazy.

I wonder how the ticket responses are for other games on this site... the whole "I gotta deflect and not answer the question so I can save face" attitude just ****** people off. Friggin immature and beyond frustrating. Regardless, Fantasy Football is starting which means the NBA sim is on the backburner for me now and unless there's a magical, massive update, it will continue to drop on my fun things to do list til it's gone for good.

I've quit adding leagues.  there are two progressive leagues I've considered joining but after the UPL just died, and in light of the response sly got to his ticket, I'm not going to be adding any more leagues.  I'm using up the credits I have on leagues I've committed to until they die as well.  Which won't be long with what's going on right now.
