Anybody put together a list of potential SIM Cookies and/or superstars?

Figured everyone will want to use Acuna, Betts, and Freeman.

Arraez could be an affordable 2B option.

The Orioles closer was having a great season until he got hurt.

Who else are you excited to see?

Any estimates on cost? Acuna might be over $10 million!

I'm excited for Ryan Pepiot of the Dodgers. He has 33 IP across 6 games and a lovely 0.697 WHIP. Has allowed four taters, tho. And one bad outing during the last week could really change his outlook.

Yeah, this should be a fun batch of new guys, especially given the increase in SBs.

DH Ohtani will be an absolute monster

Figuring Acuna will cost something like $16,000 per PA so he'll be over $10M in my best guess. Might even be over $11M given the 70 steals w/ an 83% success rate. Not sure how the steals are calculated into the algorithm.

Don't think I'll be using the presumed NL Cy Young Winner Blake Snell. His BB/9 is 4.95 (not sure what the normalized number will be) which is pretty much unusable to my team building style. Logan Webb fits my style a bit better... His K/BB ratio was 6.26 and he led the NL in IP.

Evan Phillips might be a good value play for 2023. He averaged just about 1 inning per outing so should be good for a solid 15 pitches per game. Like his 1.9 BB/9 and .845 WHIP. Ditto Graterol who has a higher WHIP, but lower HR/9 (.4/9) and BB9 (1.6).

Acuna is going to be a monster! He won't even strikeout 100 times like most players.

I think Freeman could be a really good SIM player too.

More of a random choice, but I’ll definitely be finding a way for Zack Gelof (A’s rookie 2B) onto teams.

Taught him when he was in high school

2023 players released today.

Freeman is the most expensive at $8.3 million.

Acuna only $7.7 million but C+/D+ defender?!

Betts at 2B

Starting a simple theme to try some of these players out. 1973-2023, $100mil w/DH. No AAA.

Must have at least 3 players from 2023, but no other restrictions.

Man, I've been on this site a while and can usually come relatively close in guessing new releases, but $10,479 seems like, pardon the pun, a steal. I missed my guess on his cost by a mile (and a half). haha.

Not sure if this is a bug or not, but 2023 Shohei Ohtani is listed as having an IP/G of 0.98. It's possible this could have no game impact at all if it is just a display issue, but in real life Shohei Ohtani didn't only throw 1 inning per game he pitched in, and if he's limited to that in the sim engine it will be very difficult for anyone to get 130ish innings out of him.

Yeah, he appeared in 135 games, 23 as a pitcher. So they are using the wrong metric to calculate his IP/G. That will have a major impact on his usage as it will be nearly impossible to get full usage out of him over a full season. I'll send a ticket.
