Good old Admin Topic

I had a team in one of my leagues not meet the playoff requirements.  I sent a ticket in two days before season's end and got this response:

"Thanks for the message. It will be easier for me to wait until the system generates the playoffs, than manually adjust after that. So I'll wait for that, but I just wanted to acknowledge that we received this ticket. Thanks."

Playoffs were generated on Friday. I sent three tickets since then and today, in the PM games, the playoffs were started with the wrong team.  Has this happened to anyone else before?

I'm not sure how Admin can fix it.  The way I see it, they should give the second place guy (who made the playoffs by forfeit) a free team, and the guy who shouldn't be in the playoffs should forfeit his first round series.

As usual though, Admin drops the ball.

I have seen it happen a number of times.  I believe they will simply reset the playoffs with the correct teams.

doesn't that screw the teams taht won their first games in legit series?

Umm, yes.  If I was in a series against a team that was supposed to be there and our match up was locked in regardless of changes, and then I went up 1-0 or even 2-0 and then Admin reset the series because of their own incompetence...that's BS.  I'm not even in the playoffs in this league, but as commish, if a team gets screwed, I'm going to b*tch out Admin something fierce.

Jtard: "Doesn't it?"
Boogerlips: "No."
Jtard: "Um, yes it does."

Wow, that exchange made a lot of sense.

You said no, it doesn't screw people...I said yes it does and offered an explanation.  What part didn't make sense to you?  Was it your "no", without any supporting argument as to how it's not screwing someone?

No, it was you asking a question, me answering, and then you saying you already knew the answer and I'm wrong. If you already know the answer, don't ask a question. Thats all.
I've been in one playoff that started then got restarted. I was up 2-0 and remember being okay with it. I actually won 3-0 when it started again, but even if it didn't I'd've been fine. It may because I'm more stat minded. Say I have a 58% chance of beating a team in a series. I don't have a 100% or 0%, but 58%. Winning or losing therefore involves luck. All I can ask is that the 100 sided die is rolled with 1-58 marked in my favor. So if I'm up 2-0, then start over and lose 1-3 or whatever, I don't feel cheated. Being up 2-0 was just lucky, and after starting over I have the same liklihood of being that lucky again. I certainly don't feel like I "earned" being up 2-0.

sure you did...you won those games.  Maybe you're thinking cyberly and I'm thinking in RL terms, who knows.  But the fact is, if you're up 2-0, you're almost a lock to win the series.  And then you have that taken away because of an error in a series you had nothing to do with and that had zero bearing on yours.

Anyway, Admin agreed with me.  They've awarded Marlowe (who should have been in) a free team and left the playoffs as is, though I've asked them to have the team that shouldn't be there forfeit.

I agree with Boog.  No one gets "screwed" by a reset series.  The outcome of reset games (or series) are independent of each other.

I believe Jtstunned needs to look up the definition of "reset"

Technically, and logically, you're absolutely right. You can't deny it FEELS wrong, though, if you were up 2-0, then get the games negated, only to replay the series and lose. There should be greater care taken to avoid this happening again.

My point exactly.  If a WC team goes up 2-0 on the best team in the league, then loses a reset series, I doubt the owner will be satisfied since he should have lost anyway.  His team "earned" (again, obviously not the same as in RL) those wins and deserves to have that edge.

What the f*ck does this have to do with anything? Reset mean everything gets taken back to zero/the beginning.  Where did I argue against that definition?

Series will be reset.
And then you go on crying about games being played that will be reset.

Dude, if the series is being reset, I don't care about the games being played. The series is being reset.

Seriously, the amount of times you hit 9 or 10 on the jackass meter, I lose count.
