For what it's worth, I just surveyed 40 Hall of Famers' profiles and rated them according to the number of points per game that their records show for WIS baseball. (Simple formula: TP / GP.)

elbirdo was No. 1 at 2.462 points per game.
zubinsum 2nd at 2.267.
llamanuts 3rd at 2.053.

ligapelota 4th at 1.786.
boogerlips 5th at 1.627.

The all-time leader in TP, richard3244, is 1.570, right behind SpotSell at 1.589.

Rounding out this Top Ten: ARomano 1.566, tulsaslide 1.541 and clackumus 1.5.

Take it with a grain of skepticism? Of course.

The ratings do not account for what kind of leagues an owner tends to enter. Popular wisdom on this site dictates that owners who enter teams mostly in $80m Open Leagues are most likely to have the highest ratings, although elbirdo's penchant for high-cap themes suggest there is at least one significant exception to that "rule."

But this kind of rating can give you some idea of how you're doing overall compared with other owners. And, since the ratings change everyday, you can always be going up (or down).

For the record, my number as of this morning's round was 1.244.

One final caution: There are some very reputable owners whose numbers came out in the 0.9-1.0 range. So, don't make too much of it, if your rating is not high.

Final note: The survey was not random. I chose owners I've enjoyed competing with as well as those with big reps, and mostly avoided those with losing records.

Hmm, seems like I should be somewhere in the top 5.

And I don't think entering into OL gives you the most points/game, once you got like 15k points. I think the formula for gaining points have alot to do with who you are facing. If you have 100k points and you lose to a player with 5k points, you will lose alot more than you will gain. At least this was my experience in fantasy basketball where at one point, I held the #1 points position for 3 months at about 8k. And started sliding back to around 5k even though all my teams were playoff bound and generally have 55-65 wins.

It's not that OL give you the highest points, it's that they give you the best chance to win. If you play in progressive's some seasons you just can't win so you'll lose games.

I don't think any of those guys truck mentioned play in leagues where they would be happy if they squeaked out 72 wins.

I play mostly OLs with a theme or two thrown in, but I haven't run a hell of a lot of teams.

Also, I'm not a Hall of Famer. Then again, I'm not llamanuts either. ;)

With 17 playoffs in 21 teams, the only reason you're not in the hallowed WIS hall is that you haven't spent enough money on teams yet.

In my book, you're a Hall of Famer by any name, even if you're not nuts.

I guess this means I'm getting better? Took me a while to get the hang of it.

I am averaging -.46 (yes that's a negative sign there) points per game. Maybe it's time to play OLs and skip those progressive and Failure Gets You 7 leagues.

I wish WIS would put more of these stats in your profile, so you don't have to whip out the calculator so much.

I'd also like to see my overall win %, my record in the past 162 games simmed (across all my leagues), my playoff record, and my record broken down by league types (OL, CL, theme, TOC).

I'd like that, too, especially since owner rating is not very helpful.

They just need to redo the owner"s rating. The current one is crap.
