I just made it to the playoffs. What are some strategies for the lineup, rotation and bull pen? Put the stinkers on rest and leave them there? Anything else?

64cards is just a prospect and this is his first team. My advise is to play for the current series and not worry about having rested players down the line.

shorten your rotation. you can probably get by with just your best 2 pitchers... if they're really short on RL IP and close to their limit you might need to go with 3. put their pitch counts at the max for their IP/G.

put your mop-up guy on rest. bump up the 'pull' setting for any other marginal relievers.

if you have any platoons where one guy is clearly better, put that guy in both lineups regardless of what hand he hits with. if you have any short-AB stud hitters, start them for a game or two.

1st game over. Lost 5-4. My 1915 Pete Alexander went 7 1/3 on 105pc. He gave up 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th. I had him set at a 1 pull and 120mpc. His ip/g calculation was 122. With a i pull, late in the game, I'm surprised sim didn't pull him earlier. The person I am playing beat me this same way in some of the end of the season showdowns. Big runs in the late innings. It feels more like something his hitters are doing than what my pitchers aren't. His wis team acts like some of the freakish rl teams whose batters are rally masters. The 86 Mets come to mind. Learning as I go. Thanks for your input.

Keep in mind that a pull setting of 1 basically means "don't take this guy out until he reaches his pitch count." It's not quite that extreme, but almost.

While it would be fun to win the league championship now, and then the whole thing, I am enjoying the new small feather in my cap - as well as the comaraderie. The guy I'm playing has many championships. I knew it would be a steep climb based on the way he handled me in the regular season. Thanks for the conversation.

Gotta try and get back to change the pull numbers . . . to 3? It will be another lesson however it comes out.
