your post gave me a chance to see how my post update Shortstops are fielding. None of these listed are D+ range, but I believe '89 HOJO is a D-range SS anyhow. Perhaps in the aggregate this is of some value. Again, these are from my 6 post update teams.

'70 Aparicio (open) A-/C 142 games, 17 errors 2+ 8 - .976 FP

'99 Larkin (theme) A-/C- 58 games, 3 errors, 0 + 3- .988 FP

Not as good as I had hoped, but his D is better than I expected. i have him batting in the 6th spot vs. ies and in the 8 hole vs. righties. he has started all 58 games the team has played.

8 doubles, 1 triple, 4 HR, 35 RBI, 5/1 sb/cs and .248/.314/.354

89' HoJo is more of a D--- at SS. His range is atrocious. Expect to see HoJo at or near the top of the leader boards for minus plays in whatever league you're in, with 30-35 not being uncommon. He will likely double any other regularly used SS in that category. That said, if you can live with the minus plays every 5th game, he will not commit an error and he'll give you a 30-30 season, for just over 5 million. He's one of the more intriguing cost-benefit players in the sim I think.

With the cost of great range SS now. That have no bat I can sure live with HOJO minus plays. To have his wheels and great heavy bat.Plus never a error maybe be 1 e every 2 seasons.

begs the question. What do you think is more importantat SS, no errors and a ton of - plays that put runners on base, or good range? I opt for the former

His Strat card from 1989 was pretty devastating.

Slightly off topic, but I'm having good luck (so far) with '91 Hojo. After 217 AB's (in a 95M league at Shea), he's .276/.350/.502 with 10 HR and 8 SB.

The extra bonus is that you can stick '91 Hojo in the outfield (C-/C+)... it's actually his best position.
