Has anybody tried the AAA identification since the update? I never had a problem identifying the player using the AAA revealed charts before and now I am either making a mistake or something has changed?

i suspect that their fielding ratings aren't going to match up. since the players in your search result are normalized and your AAA guys are not.

in other words, 1908 honus wagner might be C/A in your search results but since he's not normalized as an AAA player he would be listed as D/A in your team center.

I could ID my aaa. The ratings in the GMs office are correct. I couldnt find accurate secondary positions but close enough to id them.

I concur. At least for the moment, the accurate ratings are in the GM office only. The fielding grades chart in the manager's center (fielding grade specifically) could be wrong for some of your AAA players, for primary and/or secondary positions. It appears that the range grade is accurate though for primary and secondary positions.

Pre-update, it seemed that I would typically get AAA batters with a real value of approximately $1.1 to $1.85 million. I don't think I have ever had a AAA bat valued over $2 mil. First team entered post-update, and I have no AAA bats below a D stamina (4 D's, 1 C, 1 A) and some of them aren't half bad. And 4 of the bats seem to be worth about $2 mil or more, the top one about $2.6 mil.

I took a quick look at the salary ranges for AAA position players (post 2009 update) and I found the following:

Below Average: 364,170 to 1,574,999

Average (Open League) 1,575,000 to 2,599,999

Above Average 2,600,000 to 3,874,999

Way Above Average 3,875,000 to 9,651,076

So there have been substantial changes in the salary ranges for AAA position players. The overlaps between the categories have been eliminated. The average salary in each of these groups has increased, though the change in WAA is modest However, if houseofbayne is right about the stamina ratings being higher (i.e. more PAs) plus the net increases in position player salaries in the 2009 update (appox. 5%) the quality of the AAA players you get may be less than the increases in salary ranges might indicate.

Looks like WIS has stirred the AAA tea leaves again.

The new salary ranges for AAA pitchers:

Below Average SP 200,000 to 949,999 RP 200,000 to 699,999

Average (OL) SP 950,000 to 1,849,999 RP 700,000 to 1,499,999

Above Average SP 1,850,000 to 3,449,999 RP 1,500,000 to 2,774,999

WAA SP 3,450,000 to 9,174,893 RP 2,775,000 to 5,246,064

The WAA SP high salary (9,174,893) is misleading. Only 5 WAA starters out of 6,500 plus have salaries over 8 mil. and only 100 or so cost between 7 & 8 mil.

Like position players the overlaps in salaries between the various levels of AAA pitchers have been eliminated as long as you look at starters and relievers separately. Unlike position players the salaries have no clear upward trend - may similar or down.

With regard to problems identifying players due to changes in their fielding rating I think these will be temporary and will only effect AAA players generated before the upgrade. I'm assuming, that like last year when there were lots of changes to pitcher's fielding range, the issue will go away as all the pre-update teams finish their seasons.

I base this assumption on the tzentmeyer's Developers Chat last Friday. winnetka1 asked:

Do the AAA defensive ratings match up with the fielding grades in the draft center?

tzentmeyer: Yes

It also appears, from several of the comments above, that the updated fielding rating for pre-update generated AAAs can be found in the GMs Office. I'm not sure where in the GMs Office people are looking. It might be useful to see if the updated info shows up in the Trades screens in GM. You can find fielding ratings, including secondary positions, there for your players as well as any other team in your league. I don't have any teams with pre-update AAAs right now so I couldn't check this.
