I'm a newbie. I've built my team on pitching, defense, speed and on-base percentage (decent batting average and lots of walks). I don't have much power. Which ballbark should I use? Any and alll suggestions from you experts would be greatly appreciated.

You've played almost 50 teams, which hardly qualifies you as a newbie. What park do you think you should use, and why? That might make for a more interesting conversation.

Whats especially ironic is that the correct answer is written in his name.

Okay, I played this game a few years ago and I was lousy at it. I'd love to have some suggestions from hall of famers like you guys. I think Petco or maybe Safeco could help my pitchers and defense minimize other teams' power and hitting. I could then let my OBP and and speed score a few runs to win more than I lose at home. How does that sound?

Couple of questions, when you say you built ur team on pitching, are the pitchers low oav and low hr? Defense, as in fielding or range? Does speed = high stolen base %?

If low oav and few hr, with A++ range, no power, and high sb %, go dodger stadium.

A couple of answers. My pitchers have a 1.18 WHIP, OAV .245, HR 0.70. For my defense Fielding A, Range D. And LOTS of speed and SB, with high SB%. What should I change about my team? I do have an OBP of about .400 with a lot of walks. All help greatly appreciated. Really. I put $40 million each in batting and pitching.

Your staff is gonna get shelled with those numbers. You better go extreme pitchers park like petco or safeco or expect era north of 5.

So my OAV and HR should be a lot lower? What about my defense?

I don't go A fielding across the board, only at key spots. D range is going to hurt your pitchers, but from your hr numbers, it looks like they are modern day pitchers so you might be ok. The pitching staff is problematic bc of the high whip and high oav. I personally can stomach high hr/9 if say, the whip is sub 1 like the various versions of clemens, rj, or pedro bc most likely they will be solo shots. High whip, high oav, and hr/9 of .7, not a good combo.

A fielding at second, shortstop and centerfield? What should my minimum range be for everybody? Thanks for your helpful suggestions. What's a good OAV and HR to have for my pitchers?

of course range is irrelevant at catcher, and doesn't seem to come into play much at 1B, either. beyond that, i'm not too fond of anyone with range below C. i always go with A+++ for centerfield, and i always use a catcher who throws out 50% of base stealers.

If you are spending 40M in an OL, whip should be at least sub 1.1. I have a team currently with 34.5M in pitching, and the numbers are better than yours in all categories.

A+ players are going to generate around 30+ plays per position.
Poor range at catcher is going to lead to a number of PB. + plays at 1b and 3b might be taking away xbh, instead of singles.

Oav needs to be below at least .220 and bbs less than 3, hr 9 ,less than .5 or you are gonna get blown out alot.

you can go D+ or C- range in the corner OF positions without dire results for your team.
