Bad Playoff losses. Topic

I just feel like complaining about the sim.

On my 105 win 2004 progressive team Kiko Calero (.82 whip .99 hr/9) just blew game 1 and 2 by letting game 1 with 2 run lead get tied and then losing game 2 with a 3 run lead both at home at Safeco. Both games were won by 3 run homers by Jason Varitek 18 HR rl at 91% fatigue. Kiko hadn't walked a batter at all in the 11.1 ip after I picked him up and didnt give up a run at all til playoffs. Also one of my best 80 inning relivers threw 4 pitches in game 1 to clean up and was fatigued and not available for game 2 but somehow 40 ip kiko was available to blow game 2.

I hope I can pull a miracle but this will be the toughest playoff series loss since Caruthers gave up a walk off grand slam to jason kendall in game 7 of ws at old braves field -4 -4 hr.

My last progressive team to make the playoffs lost game 1 23-0. Bob Feller who had been pretty dominant all year gave up like 10 runs in the first 2 innings.

It sucked. Best record in the conference loses to one of the worst, in 3 straight! But hey, it happens and eman7400 went on to the World Series and I give him alot of the credit. He just got hot at the right time I suppose...
3/25/2010 12:16 AM
Ya i couldnt believe that one arvid, I thought you would cruise with joss. You at least lost to 2 really good pitchers in Johnson and Schmidt. Im just upset by how my team lost 1st 2 games. Most of the lineup is fatigued too. I cannot believe that a pitcher with .82 whip could blow 2 leads in a progressive in safeco.
3/25/2010 12:38 AM
So are you complaining that Colero didn't give up a run in his first 11 innings? That does seem kind of unfair.
3/25/2010 1:18 AM
That is what is he should be doing especially against a fatigued lineup at Safeco.

He is somehow not showing fatigue and threw a 123 9th in game 3 and is still at 96% while other pitchers fatigue severely.

No, Boog, it is because in real-life stud pitchers never loose a game against fatigued opponents-- except this one time.
3/25/2010 10:58 PM
Except, maybe, Dennis Eckersley gives up a homerun to beaten down Kirk Gibson. Or ...

Yes but the difference is that real life game results are not based on the stats.
3/26/2010 11:02 AM
to me, if the team that was supposed to win won every time, where would the fun part of the game be? one team would win 150+ games. the head scratching makes the box scores worth reading.
