I don’t agree with that. It is a pat statement. In general the modern republicans are ideologues and gravitate
toward autocratic and culture war policies. Everybody adores power but most of them wanted to change things in the country unfortunately they could care less about character or truth. They just want to **** some people up. They dont care about democracy just their objectives through party rule.

Modern democrats are idealists. Many start off as public defenders or they spend time in groups trying to bring social justice or climate control etc.
And that certainly continues in the policies and laws they devote a great deal of time in trying to pass.

Most of all of them spend a great deal of time at their job. The parties have different aims and intellects in their ranks and only one party is devoted to democracy and rule of law and integrity.
That has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Sure some from both love the individual power. But being a representative or senator is not a trophy to the vast manority.
They are committed to what they believe.

Look at all the laws that are passed. It takes a great deal of work and dedication.

You place way way way way too much on this power issue. It sounds ridiculous to boil them down to that disregarding the exhausting work they do and what motivates them for good or for bad.

You're entitled to disagree with me. I just stated the way I feel about politicians in general. Sure, some are less power hungry then others, some are more. Unfortunately, it seems the ones who are more power hungry are usually the ones who get elected, probably because they will do and sayy anything to get votes.

Maybe you are confusing status and power.
Politicians from both parties commit to their policies and try to enact them. What is individual power is exerted for the party objectives and goals.
It is human for all of them to enjoy their status just as doctors and lawyers and businessmen.

It is just false to say that they say anything they have to in order to win. There are always one or two issues they avoid and skirt but almost all if them from both sides try ti keep their promises and run on their record.

What you keep saying sounds like people saying pro sports are fixed just like wrestling.

Thats funny but believe it or not I like a lot of Yoko Ono music and especially her songs on Sometime in New York City which is one if the most under appreciated albums in rock history. Brilliantly subversive and interesting music. Damn those torpedoes. They were not hip enough to appreciate something truly cool and cutting edge when it happened.

I dont have to qualify my opinion. The way i express myself it is obviously opinion and I do know that I have a right to my opinion. Why do these things need to be said.

Trump is making very loud statements on microphones about how Pence was wrong because he was legally allowed to do what Trump wanted him to do

I think so. His statements seem to be an attempt to break down criminal intent. He will use the my attorney told me what was legal and I just relied on my legal counsel.
He is telegraphing his later defense and putting it into the public domain.
It is called getting ahead of information coming out and future information that he knows is coming.

Anyone who has never seen the movie Pleasantville should make an effort to see it.
To me a great enough movie to be on the same shelf with movies like Groundhog Day and Fahrenheit 451 and Animal Farm and Green Book. Movies that make you think.

Pleasantville is very very relevant against what is happening in Texas with whitewashing history and trying to exclude reality and difficult social issues in society from school curriculum.
