Jim Palmer

Instead of drafting for 5 teams, let's draft for 10 teams. I could easily find 10 seasons to use from each of my two SPs (Nolan Ryan and Jim Palmer). It will be a difficult decision to narrow it down to which 5 seasons to use.

I actually think this (10 teams) would be really fun. Guys with really long careers would have so much more value as compared to guys with 3-4 really good seasons and nothing else. And how you would construct your 10 teams? Balanced? Strong to weak? The scoring system would go a long way to determine the ideal strategy (maybe add different bonuses for 9 playoff teams, 8 playoff teams, etc). One-year studs would be almost undraftable unless you purposely were tanking half your teams. Maybe even institute a negative penalty for 100-loss teams to discourage tanking.

Are you Canadian as well?
Yes, Snider was good for the Expo broadcasts in those early 80s heydays. Then Ken Singleton was good as well.
Grew up on a border crossing town. CBC was the best reception on the antenna. roder turned N
After Jays expansion they replaced Expos as the most broadcast team. Which bummed me out.
They were terrible! From 69 - 77 I was an Expos fan.

Catfish Hunter
I went back and forth between Palmer and Hunter. I like Hunter's top 3 seasons better than Palmer's top 3 seasons, but season 4 and 5 are much better with Palmer. Also, it appears I will be playing in home games in a ballpark with a + HR so Palmer > Hunter in that category.

Nice pick though.

I grew up on the Canadian prairies. Far from Montreal but the Expos were what were shown on CBC. And they were an exciting team in the early 80s to watch as I first started following baseball. Dawson, Raines, Cromartie, Rogers, Valentine, Wallace, etc.

The 1981 Blue Monday defeat was my first big sports disappointment.

Then in the mid 80s we got CTV on our stations as well and they carried the Blue Jays. And they were exciting. Blowing the 3-1 series lead to KC in 85 was my next big disappointment.
