A lot of people voted for Obama in 2008. that was never the question.

The question is was his 2nd election a mandate.

And for the first time in the last 40 years a president won the 2nd term with less support than the first term.

He won a close election to a candidate that the pop culture had destroyed.

How can anyone argue that Obama did far worse in 2012 than in 2008.

And in 2008 he went into office with a powerful majority in both houses.

In 2012 he has a narrow lead in the Senate and a large deficit in the House.

2012 was not a mandate.

Obama won and his supporters should be proud of that. It just isnt a mandate for his policies.

He should be willing to compromise and make deals to move ahead and he clearly isnt.

I guess it is the GOP that has the mandate to **** every thing up. How did I miss that? Well, they are doing a great job then.

It isnt a question of the Republicans controling the Government.

We are in a situation where both sides control some aspects of government with the clear edge going to Democrats.

They dont control enough to just push around the opposition.

If we are going to solve problems we need an Obama that doesnt want to force his ideas on America with no compromise.

He needs to be more like Clinton and reach across the aisle and solve problems.

Obama is still in full Agenda mode.

The NRA has always supported the NICS, the best system for backround checks.

What the anti-gun nuts want in place are systems that allow the government to limit purchases by law abiding citizens.

They want more paperwork and more regulations.

I post these as a reflection of my exhaustion with winter and not as a statement about climate change. I say this to save swamp from his need to make one of his needless political rants.

And of course we wouldnt want to stop one of your needless political rants!
