Sent a ticket.

Here is the response:

Glen,

I've been working on it off and on the last week or so. I'm hoping to have them out along with updated versions of all historical players within the next week or two at the most.

Thank you, sir.

Well I guess we have to face facts. We're the red-headed stepchild.
6/2/2010 9:40 PM
I've been much happier since I accepted that fact.

It would had been nice if he would have just released the 09-10 players using the current formulas to calculate defensive rating and position effectiveness then release the updates a month down the road when it is ready.

That's extra grunt work, though. I can understand them just wanting to do it once and get it right.

Sorry things are running late, but I am working on it. We're trying to come up with an alternative method to assign position effectiveness that is easier and quicker to apply each season. The hard part is coming up with something that is quick to calculate but also works for all types of players.

Also, I'm not sure if I mentioned this before or not, but I'm going to make some salary tweaks for this release as well. I know offense seems to be underpriced in the current formula.

Once I have updated player records I'll post a spreadsheet with the data to have you guys take a look before it's released.

Very cool. Thanks for the update. I'm looking forward to seeing the changes.

Has there been any more consideration given to variable size leagues? 16 seems to be the size most often mentioned, and that would help us run concepts like all-ABA as theme leagues. Would this be a big deal to implement?

Thanks for the update.

This is very good news! Thanks for taking some of our suggestions over the past year into account for this release. I would much rather wait a couple of extra weeks for a release that fixes several things than just new players and a year of waiting for the next batch.

Thanks!

I'm looking forward to this increased functionality of the forums themselves. Just being able to post links to rosters, boxscores and so forth cleanly will be nice, and some of the other features could put this site more on a par with some of the better, straightforward sports discussion sites.
