Maybe they'll have another contest to have owners create all of the logic for them and give away a free team. Ha!!

A couple versions of the sim ago, jose can u c rattled off 5 straight open league championships with the same starting lineup. I know the backcourt was Kidd and Moncrief and I think the rebounding came from Russell and Thurmond. I don't remember who the SF was, but you get the point anyway. That team would be blown off the court now - in part because Bill and Nate's rebounding value has been nerfed and blocked shots aren't as valuable as they used to be, but especially because strong perimeter defense rarely will mitigate a strong three-point assault
He used the 43%-44% Scottie Pippen as his SF........as I remember

Yep, I think you're right. Amazing to think how little defense means by comparison now. I still see Kidd and Russell used but you have build very differently around them to compensate for the low efficiency. Pippen and Moncrief have virtually disappeared (except for some types of theme leagues) because such a premium is placed on loading up on bombers at their positions. And how often does Thurmond show up in open leagues now? (Shoot, in those days I would go deep into the playoffs with Gerald-freaking-Govan as my center.)

8-4 w/ the first team and 3-1 w/ the second

I'm getting really good production from rookies which I needed because both teams are about 1000 minutes short

Give 'em hell, benji. Make us believe in the impossible.

25-9 right now....i really think this team is capable of doing it...we make up for the lack of threes by getting to the line more then anyone else and dominating the glass....turnovers have been the only weakness

however it would have to be in another league because even with a 25-9 record, im 5th in my conference...we have some real powerhouses...winning 4 playoff series may be too much to ask of this group...luckily i do have league mvp jordan...so anythings possible

well so far so good only 11 games but 8-3 and top in the division. My team is doing it with defense and defensive rebounding. Holding teams to 45% shooting with my team getting 13 off reb and 56 def reb with my opponents getting 12 and 45. My team is shooting 51% and has a slight three throw advantage making almost 3 more per game than opponents. Same weakness as dh555 team TOs.

My Boy Commandos have worked their way into the playoff race at 29-24, but are a combined 4-12 against the 4 teams ahead of them in the conference. Those teams have drafted a respective 747, 544, 770 and 535 3PM. (The two league powerhouses are both in the other conference, each at 42-11 having drafted over 1000 and 1300 3PM.)

I'm still looking good statistically, since I beat most teams but tend to lose big to the long-range assault specialists. I have differentials of +5.7 ppg, +7.7 rpg, and +3.1 apg. I'm also coming out ahead on spg, TOPG and FPG. Obviously way behind on 3PM, and -30 total on FTM.

wow that looks terrible.

When you said the challenge remains open for three months, did that mean you have to have started your team within three months of the first post or you have to be done winning the championship by then?
4/24/2010 5:52 PM
Have to have won within three months of the first post, although I'm not sure if anyone's on track to pull it off. Lots of candidates, though, so it's certainly possible.
