Impressively for killbatman, and sadly for the rest of us, if NC Wesleyan makes the PIT next season, even with a first-round loss, they hold on to the #1 spot.

He drops off another non-postseason year (season 21) next year, while only one other team in the top 13 has any in their last 10 (SUNY Maritime in season 25).

That is dominance-- 9 trips in a row, all at least Sweet 16, with 2 championships. Nobody other than taz (with 8, and 9 of 10) is even close on the Sweet 16 thing. And camrun at Anderson is the only one with more than 1 finals appearance in the last 10 seasons.

my run at the top was short lived. Time to work our way back up.

taz, at the moment the top 5 or 6 are well ahead of the next group, and I think it is tough to complain if any of those teams is ahead of you...

OK, I am noticing one of my conference mates is MIA...mrpolo09 / New York University. What happened to them, they should be on here (and I think they were right around Brandeis last season...)?

I noticed two SUNY Maritimes on there. One of them could be NYU.

just wanted to wish everyone GL this season, I decided to move up to D-2 and will miss all of you that I've played against. it was a tough choice but I got a great team (#1 Dynasty team for last 6 seasons) and wanted to see if I could continue the run. if any of you move up to D-2 send me a invite for a game.

how many of you guys were in crum DIII when the 3P (Peacemaker's Power Poll) was going? that was awsome and this reminds me a lot of it. thanks again for the work wronoj. this is by far my favorite team and world.

btw, thats how the upstate got started here. five of us that were active participants in the 3P decided to join the same conference. the only person we've lost is the originator of the 3P, peacemaker. anyway, enough of the history lesson. good luck to everyone this season. the upstate will be especially brutal this season. we've got hopes of sending our entire southern division to the NT...

i got the over/under at 9.5 on ranked Upstate teams to start the season.

and i've got the over/under at 1.5 for threads started tomorrow complaining about the abundance of ranked teams in the upstate...

got a preseason exhibition lined up against both Anderson and Brandeis...should be good tests for my squad...

Guess Case Western will be a good example of whether defense is important this season...that team is stacked apart from the inability to defend...
7/22/2008 3:23 AM
my guess, is that their (Case Western's) low defensive ratings won't matter.

You know its been so long, I've forgotten that peace was one of the original group that jumped into the upstate all at once.

polo, no problem-- i enjoy doing it, and it probably kept me with this team the last couple of seasons when we were playing crappy.

taz, i was a bit surprised to see you at #1, only because someone in the UCAC thread picked you to finish 4th in your division... good luck with that. is your rebounding going to be enough to hold up through there?

if the rankings are right, i am in real trouble this season-- i have 6 of the top 17 in my OOC schedule, and at least 2 more receiving votes. then, i got a Hood team that was good, but baloochow and a ghost ship took over, so that win will kill me, too. sweet.

That is the exact question I've got. No doubt we'll be lead from the perimeter. I found last year, when I thought my rebounding was poor, after looking around it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. I guess mainly due to the continual watering down of recruits. This season, we're a little worse w/ the starting post players, but a little stronger off the bench. Additionally, our Gaurds are pretty solid (both 20+), which based upon some recent info from admin, may help more than I thought 2 months ago. We'll see how it goes, we'll certainly be tested.

FWIW, I agree w/ polo that Case is the favorite in our division, but I think I can make a run at something better than 4th. Although in that grouping, there really is no shame no matter where any of us in that division finish, we all have teams capable of running to the sweet 16. Unfortunatly, somebody will have to lose.
