The streak ended at 17 games. 53-67 to 70-67.

It's a $90M league. And each team only has players with last names starting with one letter from the alphabet, except one combined.

My "Z" team could only find enough Z's to compile a roster worth $83.888M. 21 of the teams are right near the $90M Cap, and I only played one of the other low cap teams during the streak. Which I think makes the streak more amazing.

There were no huge comeback wins. Just solid SP from G.Zahn, B.Zito, J Zimmerman, and P Zachary.

Had a team in a 110M theme league clinch early so we rested our starters and gave our tired mop the final four starts (injuries off in this league). Turns out our opponent had also clinched and was resting his starters.

We got swept, by the following scores:

52-12
35-16
52-18
46-26

We scored 72 runs in four games, and got blown out in every game.

In an OL I am attempting the HR Bounty and got off to a really bad start and kinda ignored the team for awhile. With the end of the WISC looming I started paying more attention and was happy to see they've started doing a little better, including this recent 6 game stretch where we're 6-0 with 48HR hit (34HR in the first 3 games of this stretch) and are outscoring our opponents 84-30.

Here are my HR leaders over the last 6 games:

Babe Ruth - 8
Dick Allen - 8
Joe Gordon - 6
Dave Kingman - 6
Hank Greenberg - 6
Cy Williams - 6

In the progressive league that I play in, 2006 P Jon Garland has 4 HR's on the season not quite to the All-Star break.

I thought this worthy of this thread. 16 Team league, only one inter-league game left. At the 120 game mark every team in the AL is over .500. Not division, LEAGUE.

Minor League pitcher Trent Palmer has tossed his second 7 inning no hitter of the year for the Dunedin Blue Jays. . .

This isnt a SLB thing but its still pretty cool.

1972 Steve Carlton Redux

Just wrapped up a 1954 prog season. Mine was the worst overall team in the league: 51-111. We finished 49 games out of first place.

But we had one superstar, Warren Spahn. He won the Cy Young award while leading the league in wins. His record was 26-12.

Which means the rest of the staff went 25-99!

Believe It or Don't!
Spahn's put together four consecutive 1972 Carlton worthy seasons in this prog, beginning with the one described in the above post:

1954: Spahn goes 26-12, rest of staff is 25-99 (51-111 overall)

1955: Spahn goes 20-9, rest of staff is 35-98 (55-107 overall)

1956: Spahn goes 26-16, rest of staff is 32-88 (58-104 overall)

1957: Spahn goes 27-12, rest of staff is 34-89 (61-101 overall)

Averaging a record of about 25-12 for a team losing about 106 games a year!

Spahn's seasons are amazing given the team's poor performance... worth of a Believe it or Don't! post for sure.

I've had Spahn his whole career so far in this prog (1946-57) and he's been great:

Looking at the best pitchers from the over 100 years of the two long term progs I'm currently in (1901-1957 and 1961-2012), I couldn't find anyone else who put together 11 consecutive 20-win seasons. If anyone reading this knows of a pitcher with a similar or better streak, please post it in this thread.

Wow! Maybe against righties you can superglue his butt to the bench?

This is a tough OL division with a combined .647 win percentage, but that's not why they're here. Take a look at the losing streak of the team at the bottom, and then figure out what their record was before the losing started.

No real life pitcher has ever had a 20 win, 20 save season, but my 1908 Addie Joss just accomplished this feat in a 180M theme league with 13 games left on the schedule:

We're 2/3 of the way into the current Random Captain season, and 2016 Corey Kluber is putting up some thoroughly undistinguished numbers: a 7-9 record and 6.07 ERA in 139 innings.

Then lightning strikes:

A 10-inning perfecto!
