But let's not pretend a Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio or damn near everybody but Hillary/Bernie could have gotten Gorsuch appointed.

He's not done much other than presided over the most investigation Administration in history. Not saying that's his fault but negativity has DOMINATED his Presidency.
I don't think Cruz or Marco win a general election against Hillary. They are too soft, like Mitt Romney was.

Negativity would have dominated ANY Republican Presidency in this day and age. The news is strongly biased to the left. Do you honestly think they would have reported any more positively had Cruz been in office? The only difference is Trump fights back against the dishonesty so much to the point where polling shows more Americans believe the media is more dishonest than Trump... The rest of the republicans (including Cruz) would have just cowered.
But Trump, specifically, being President is not WHY Gorsuch was appointed. ANY conservative could have done that.

I think Cruz/Rubio would have gone about BEING President as opposed to fighting the LIBERAL MEDIA!!!! Trump loves to be talked about and to talk.

A) I don't think he'll want a 2nd term
B) I don't think it matters because there's no way he'd get re-elected
I don't think the Democrats have a candidate.... Or a way to beat him if they did.

His base is strong as hell. His rallies YUGE! Unless the economy collapses he's getting re-elected in another landslide.

There is ZERO chance we look back in June 2019 and say "That went well. Let's do it again!!!" ZERO.

A.) You're probably right. He's losing money every day he's not able to run his organization
B.) I think you're wrong here. There will be a LARGE backlash against the overt media liberalism, and the true lack of any leadership on either side. Some (probably not me, but you never know) might say "Hey, he got us through the last four years with a TON of adversity, both real and media-contrived. My taxes didn't go up again, and it's not like there's a decent opponent."

Put it this way.... a year ago, did you think we'd be discussing the Trump presidency and re-election?

If you thought Obama was divisive .. Cruz is even more so. Not only did he put off Democrats, he puts off his own party. He might look presidential but make no mistake the gridlock would be worse than it was was Obama.

No but do you think anyone, sans Trump/moy, is saying "This is going well. Three more years and we'll campaign for re-election"?

And the Republicans love Trump and are pushing thru his agenda?

Where are you getting your news?

I'm a non-liberal American Public. Anyone on this board will confirm it for you. Do you consider me a liberal? Do you think I stand alone?

No. They can't stand him. Trump is turning the public against them in a big way. Their voters are siding with Trump, see the polling, and now they actually have to do something to get re-elected.

Cruz or Rubio would have crushed Clinton. Same with just about any nominee. Trump barely beat her.

No they aren't. Trumps approval rating is in the toilet. Most of the country sees him for the clown that he is.

So Trump will cost conservatives their seats in Congress?

You somehow think that's a good thing for the Republican party? OK, then.
