We know never know what "sold" LBJ on LA, but I'm starting to believe that somehow Magic had him buy-in to making the BIG splash next summer. That's why he made the 2-year comment last week. Also falls in line with every new signing besides LBJ being for 1 season. "Somebody" will take Deng's contract next summer and then Kawhi and Butler can join LBJ and all the young guys. I much prefer that to trading 2 or 3 of them (and/or picks) this summer.
I personally think the Lakers want to try to sign Klay Thompson away from the Warriors after next season. Klay is from L.A., his dad works for the Lakers...but if I'm Klay, I'd rather make $25 million with the Warriors than $30 million with LeBron and the Lakers. Why mess with success?

lest i raise anyone's ire this is a politics neutral comment on the passing of ED SCHULTZ....former msnbc personality.
ed schultz was a host for many years at MSNBC and when he was released in 2015 he went to RT in 2016.....
to me he was not as interesting to watch as anyone on the current team.
interestingly, i just read that he was originally a staunch conservative radio firebrand and switched sides after the late 1990s.
that was hard to believe......mr. ed.

i recently watched a netfix original movie....it had bad reviews...naturally i thought it was good....starred kevin james.
this movie had a budget of 40 million......thats astoundingly high for a television movie...told me a lot about the netflix commitment....

...and to think that Netflix was originally in competition with Blockbuster Video for the movie rental market. The world has changed somewhat.

i never knew that.
netflix has revolutionized television.
one of the great things is great original shows from around the world...im now watching a cool show from australia called wanted.

Yeah, they originally had a pay-per-rent model just like Blockbuster. As a matter of fact, Blockbuster made a bid to acquire Netflix early on because they knew they were in big trouble. Netflix prudently declined and drove Blockbuster out of business within the next decade.

one thing they could improve upon is asian programs for the chinese and chinese subtitles subtitles...they are tremendous with s. korean programs but i know of nothing for mandarin speaking people or vietnamese.......chinese people is a huge untapped market...if they only added mandarin subtitles for english speaking shows and nothing else.......they could add millions of new customers.

Not sure I get your drift...American programs in English with Mandarin/Cantonese subtitles for them or Asian programs in native Mandarin/Cantonese with English subtitles for us? I think both would be interesting.
7/6/2018 10:49 PM
there are korean programs with english subtitles...no chinese.
and no mandarin subtitles available.

I'm not sure I would admit to liking any movie starring Kevin James if a public forum, dude.

of course, first there would have to BE a Kevin James movie I liked, so its probably not anything I should worry about.

Kevin should pull an Ellen James and cut out his own tongue

hitch is another possible top comedy for my list.
