The reality is, Trump's election isn't a statement about Obama. Had Obama been allowed to run for a third, he would have kicked the **** out of Trump. It wouldn't have been close.

Trump's election does say something about how much people didn't like Clinton, and she still won the popular vote.

Newsflash, the election didn't turn on policy. It was about personality.

People didn't like Clinton. They didn't like Trump either (hense his popular vote loss), but Trump was able to squeak out wins in a couple swing states and win the election.

Trump ran on policy. Trump didn't run on his good looks and charming personality. Maybe you missed this... Build the Wall! Renegotiate Trade Deals, Major Tax Cuts and Repatriation, Repeal and Replace Obamacare to name a few.... You're kidding yourself if you don't think his voters cared about this stuff.

I mean, Bernie's platform had a LOT of Democrats leaning his way. Do you think that's because Hillary was a bad candidate (running on Obama's platform) or because libs were buying what Bernie was selling them?

But he didn't run on policy. He ran on personality. MAGA isn't policy. It's a cult. Lock Her Up isn't policy. It's a cult.

Trump didn't specify policy positions and, when he took office, Trump followers weren't upset when he backed away or completely reversed his stance.

Can't repeal the ACA? Oh well.

Can't build the wall? Oh well.

Can't get tax cuts done? Oh well.

So his term is 7 months? Most Presidents get 4 years.

Mexico wall has been a pipe dream that no sane person thought would happen.
If there is some level of tax reform, and I do think some laws will change, we'll just bicker over the meaning of "major".

You think the ACA will be dismantled? What parts?

Preexisting condition coverage? Basic services requirements? Individual mandate? Those are the big three. I'd guess they all stay, or at least they outlive Trump's presidency.
