Don't forget. Real life results to mirror Sim results in hoops like they do in baseball.

I just saw a player in the database whose defensive rating is 4.
Wow! He picks a spot on the offensive side of the court and just stands there...
We called it a "basket hanger."

Savoybg… Roger A Brown was a good pick for where u got him. Haywood was a good pick but my experience has been that Lanier is a little more well rounded. Buse was a FANTASTIC pick. The best pick you have made. Your 3rd and 4th round picks suck. U coulda gotten both of them in the late rounds. With Haywood and Buse, you still have a chance to be competitive if you can do better the rest of the draft.
You've got a point with Heard, but the great defenders were disappearing fast, and he's 100 plus good steals and my only shot blocker at 2.8 per game, and he can play 3, 4 or 5. My weakest offensive guy.

As for Clark, playing a point guard who is a big scorer with 8 assists per game at the 2 sounds pretty good to me.

Archie Clark was a bonafide superstar for 3 seasons. Did you ever see him play? If he's gonna fall to later rounds here something is wrong. Remember, we are not picking based on their careers, it's just based on whatever we pick as their best season. Clark was the 5th best PG in 71-72 in win shares per 48, and the 4 ahead of him (Frazier, West, Tiny, Big O) were all taken already when I took Clark. He made the all star team and was second team all NBA that season. Because he played over 40 minutes a game that season he was 8th in total win shares.

Savoybg….. I love how u have been helping out with this draft. The continuous update of the draft board has been a big help. I also love your enthusiasm and interest in nba wis. I am right there with u. I am having the time of my life. I do understand your initial reaction to the unspoken policy of discussing Undrafted players, I felt the same way at 1st. But then I had a chance to cool down, and I promise u, it’s better this way. I am happy to discuss undrafted players with u separately if u want to sitemail. And there’s a lot of owners who were happy to help answer general questions and general strategy with me via sitemail as well when I just started. This really is a great group of owners. That being said, it’s very ironic that you threw out the “No Whining” rule, because you have been whining the whole time. I play baseball wis as well and neither myself or anyone else gives a shirt what they do in baseball. We are on DDL 30 something. That means they have run this league over that many times. Please stop your whining. Ps. I can dish it out and take it with the best of them. You can’t upset me. If u wanna have some fun, we can needle each other, and provide some sideline entertainment for the masses. :)
Thanks, I am home most of the time with my computer always on with a mail order business. I sell old records all around the world, so orders can some in around the clock. https://www.discogs.com/seller/SavoyBG/profile

So it's no problem to monitor the draft and update things as they go along. If I was hosting I would also update each pick on page 1 as they come. In baseball I make the position players blue and the pitchers red so you can look quickly at a team's roster as the draft is going on and see what they might pick next.

My Starting 5 plus my 6th man. Would feel even better about this team if it rebounded a bit better and I am at bare minimum when it comes to assists. Picked Reed probably a little early BUT I have Kareem in division, so I am going to need every minute of that 100 Defense Reed brings at the Center spot. Boone and Williams will be swapping spots on the bench depending who we are playing and how much D vs Rebounding is needed.

P.S. I am going to be committing a lot of fouls so you best be able to make a free throw if you play me
Player Position Usage% eFG% FT% OReb% DReb% Ast% To% PF per 48 Def MPG
72-73 Herm Gilliam PG 17.5 49.6 82.0 3.4 9.8 18.8 15.1 4.5 51 33
75-76 John Drew SG/SF 28.4 52.0 74.4 11.9 16.5 7.7 13.3 5.3 52 29
72-73 Ron Boone SF 25.0 50.3 86.8 5.2 10.6 15.1 17.0 5.7 60 31
69-70 Johnny Green PF 19.8 55.9 59.2 11.4 22.9 5.2 14.9 5.6 50 28

78-79 Gus Williams SG 26.9 51.9 77.5 4.9 5.8 15.3 12.2 3.4 77 28

I think the low assists are a bigger problem that the rebounding, which ia not bad at all with Drew helping out. Good eFG% too. The minutes look low as compared to the guys I took. I have 4 guys over 40 MPG and the other two are 35 and 36. 4 guys played 82 games and the other 2 are 81 and 77. Your off reb is good, the def reb is light.

Yes, you do foul a lot. I have 3 guys (Buse, Clark, Haywood) whose PF/48 is 2.8 and Brown is lower than everybody on your team except Williams. Drew, Boone and Green look like hackers.

Okay, my 5 starters are set. Any comments?

PG - Buse
SG - Clark
SF - Brown
PF - Heard
C - Haywood

You're not going to like it but this is my quick take. The seasons used would be helpful.

I think your good with defensive rebounding and assists. The D is overall average as Heard can't be everywhere at once. The biggest issue I see is on offense. Brown is good at what he does at SF but what he does not do is get enough offensive rebounds for how this team is constructed. ORB% is important here because you may not be able to get enough shots and the shots you do get are kind of average efficiency. A lot has to with Buse. A very good PG in almost all aspects, but he is not going to contribute much with scoring and seems to be more of a luxury. The good news is that you're going to get to the line so that should help some with getting points on the board.

A pretty good effort if this is your first team here.

Just one opinion.

PG - Buse - 75-76
SG/PG - Clark - 71-72 Bullets with 3285 mins
SF/SG - Brown - 69-70
PF/SF - Heard - 73/74
C/PF - Haywood - 69-70
C - Sikma - 78-79

Yes, the FG% is not great, but should be helped by high assists for this league. Usage will be over 100% with Buse the only low usage guy, but he gives you as many steals 2 and half regular guys, 8.2 assists, and good defense. This is my first team other then an open league team before I knew about clones and the assist problem. I'm not gonna make the playoffs with that one which is....

https://www.whatifsports.com/nba-l/stats.asp?teamid=586052

I'm getting killed by a league full of Stocktons, LeBrons and Magics. Like half the league has 2 or 3 LeBrons and 2 or 3 Stocktons on their teams. There's guys on those teams shooting like 75% and 80% from the field for the year. The all star team had like 7 LeBrons and 6 Stcoktons between the 2 teams. Several teams average over 40 assists per game.

I'll never play another one. The people at the company argued with me that clones and having the same player on multiple teams is okay because people want to try things, but I think it's preposterous. Each player should only be on one team in each league. I'll bet lots of potential customers play one open league and see the clones and **** and just never come back.
