Surely someone can do better than that with him. The IP/G is a tad low, but you can still get him to eat 250 innings...

1911 normalizes VERY well.

I’ve failed at my 2x50 attempt. 14 games left and I’m 16 wins short. I might not get either to 50. Cy really faded down the stretch for me. That said, I rested some offense to prep for a playoff run, and I didn’t even build this team in hopes of capturing the bounty. It’s a great first iteration towards the goal, at the very least. Again, they each have seven starts remaining:

i feel you, I built my team I was mentioning above with a different goal in mind, put the bounty out, then thought, "I might be able to squeeze this." So, I was very happy with 48 & 46 wins, respectively. I can build from that, and try again...

I've given more though about taking a run at the 80 win record. I think I have a strategy that might work, but I want to clarify something. To maximize usage, we need to keep the pitcher <70% of games played, and keep him on his innings track. So in theory, would this approach work, and has anybody tried it: Starter 1/2A/2B/3A/3B. Starter 1 is an innings eater, while the other four are studs to go 3+ innings. Then your stud comes in for long relief. That way, every six games he pitches #2/3/5/6...never above 67% of team games played. If it works perfectly, that's 108 appearances with elite openers ahead of him.

The trick is getting the money to work, and making sure you have enough innings in the bullpen for when your stud isn't pitching.

Yeah, I'm not using Silver King, either. I've got Ed Seward (the current record holder for wins, by the way).

After 28 games Seward is 15-1, on pace for 86 wins. I think he's got an outside shot at 80, but who knows.
Jinxed Seward with this post. He's dropped off in the past 15 games, now has 19 wins in 43 games, on pace for 71.5 wins....
Back on track with this attempt, since Seward has notched W's in 19 straight appearances. Thru 96 games he's 48-5, on pace for 81 wins.

And oh yeah, his ERA is 1.70 in 329 innings. In his Performance History, his best ERA in 30 seasons is 2.34.

THAT'S AWESOME! Hope he keeps it up!

Casey gets W30 at game 100. 30-6, 40QS in 50 starts, 2.72 ERA. Getting 50 looking unlikely but a fine performance nonetheless. Team Name - Serenity Now!

Considering his woeful performance history prior to my picking him up off the floor, I'm mulling over putting together a theme where you'd get points for besting their previous best numbers. Put 25 lots of players in a pool, then use a serpentine draft to build a team. It would take some doing to find the players, but perhaps be quite a challenge. Any interest?
I think it would be an interesting theme, Doc. Maybe admin could assemble a whitelist of players with a limited performance history use age ( say 5 or less). This would make drafting easier. Years ago they put together a whitelist of players with zero PH use age for me to use in a “ virgins league” I created.

id be interested to join this kind of league.

Oh I will build the list. It will take awhile but I will get it put together.

Some have very limited usage. Others have been used but have poor track records. I'm trying to pick out the ones that should be better than past performance. There are a few that have done well but for whatever reason have seen very limited duty. We will change that...

Kremer just threw a one hitter for me in Fultan County.

edit- Sparky took him out after 8, had thrown 95 pitches.

Great attempt though, especially since it wasn't a real attempt. I have my next team ready to go, but with the WISC starting I'm not putting any more teams in ha

my HR Bounty team has been fun so far. 13-7 and on pace for 740 total HR.

Biggest issue is my pitchers have been better than I expected, but my offense has been great.
