REPICK RULING:
hoopsrus needs to KEEP Kevin McHale -
It is a long held belief or a standard in What If Sports Drafts,
that once a pick is submitted, that the owner is committed to that pick
(Similar to removing your hand from a chess piece.)
IF an owner sent out a pick, and then changed it BEFORE the draft resumed -
then I really wouldn't have a problem with THAT.
(and would hope that others would be forgiving on the change as well -
As the Commissioner, I would allow THAT
(and if I were the next owner UP, then I would be OK with a re-pick as well)
In this particular situation, several picks occurred AFTER the pick in question -
that would be very difficult, and time consuming to 're-spool' - or go back, etc. etc.
And then you run into who would have selected the original player IF he were available, etc etc.
AND - allowing an owner to go BACKWARDS through submitted drafts to make a change
Creates a NASTY PRECEDENT going forward.
I would like to accommodate hoopsrus here, but think that the damage is done and
the draft has moved too far past his point of question.
McHale will stay with the franchise for THREE seasons -
Before McHale's 4th season -(he was selected as a Freshman)
hoopsrus will select a GRAD TRANSFER in the 4th round of that particular draft
as the McHale replacement
