Let felons vote - they have served their sentence, they are still US citizens who can serve in the military, restoring voting rights could reduce the likelihood of going back to prison, and the justice system is corrupt along racial lines anyway.
#1) Not what Sanders said. He said let people currently in jail, serving time vote.

#2) Corrupt along wealth lines...case in point is Jussie Smollett.

I don't know that I'd call Smollett corrupt. An idiot, yes, but I'm not sure about corrupt. Certainly no more corrupt than your buddy, Mr. trump.
Corrupt meaning our justice system in how it handled the case. Way to keep up.

THIS is the truth and a fact, but our "friends" here will continue to ignore it because they'd rather scream "RACISM" at everything even remotely possible and make the problem even worse.
I just ignore bad luck, tang and dino. I tease tang more or less but would never engage in a serious conversation with him. Or any of them tbh. They are an embarrassment.
they are no worse than you. They don't like to hear opinions that differ from theirs, and neither do you.
They are illogical. I value your opinions because you base yours on logic. I disagree with most of them but I value them.

dont lump me in...i speak out against opinions that are outrageously wrong or harmful if implemented.
you dont know me a bit...i dont have a problem with normal disagreement......i like respectful exchange but one person embracing racism or the like is never " exchange ".
Allowing convicted murderers who sit in prison to vote is insanity.

i think it does seem like insanity.
it is one of those things where you have to take 1 or 2 steps back and see the bigger picture.

some of what you say is illogical to me. Like blaming the whole democratic party because a few people flew palestinian flags at the convention. Or blaming every democrat for the election of a few people you don't like.(you know who I mean). I didn't vote for them and probably wouldn't if I lived wherever they were running for election. There's more, like saying your black friends never experienced institutional racism, so therefore it doesn't exist. Unless you are friends with every black person in America, your black friends are a very small sample size and statistically mean nothing.
You are also a Red Sox/Patriots fan, so I have to question all of your decisions!

why is it insanity? Like I said, I'm okay with convicts being able to vote, but I also am okay with them not being able to vote. Not sure I see the insanity.

So you want people who broke the law to vote on the law? Illogical.

cccpee - im interested in hearing your opinion as to why there is a significant increase in anti - Semitic crime and murders by american white nationalist
groups.

Says the guy (dino) who used to have an entire thread where he redlined every single post he disagreed with, then lied that Admin told him it was OK. Admin eventually suspended him for it.
If he's going to keep posting jokes, maybe I should start reading his posts every now and then.
After all, his "i like respectful exchange" comment is funnier than any cartoon bracco had ever posted up to the point I stopped looking at his posts too.
I think I've demonstrated more than a willingness to go back-and-forth with a lot of people here, as long is there is at least a bit of fact and diplomacy involved, but that condition has proven to be too much to ask of some. Those no longer earn my time, unless it's by second-hand posts.

I never really thought about prisoners voting or not voting.
I'm just curious, IF they were allowed to vote, would it be in their previously registered District, or where the prison is located?
If you commit a crime and lose your right to freedom, why shouldn't you also lose your right to vote?
4/29/2019 3:34 PM
If yer innocent and jailed anyway?

i never lied about anything.....you got some things wrong esp that i redlined different opinions......it was eventually not allowed that i could control discourse.
since then i came to the opinion if you cant beat them ..join them.
you are not capable of experiencing through intellect or empathy certain truths.

it is against the constitution for any citizen to be deported.
should the constitution be amended.
