Templars practiced Christianity too. The phrase "turn the other cheek" does not mean don't strike back. It means turn so that they slap you with the forehand as an equal not the backhand that was used to slap those subservient to the attacker. While you're praying they are practicing in their terror camps to end you.

Do you at least see, partially, where I am coming from with this?
I understand Jesus's teachings differently, and I think the bible is VERY clear on whether redemptive violence is OK.

This is not correct. Jesus said, "if someone slaps you on the right cheek, turn him the other also." It had nothing to do with forehand or backhand. It most certainly means do not strike back.

The full verse is:

38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’[a] 39 But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also." (Matthew 5:38-39)

Google what I said and see.

The tax bill is not perfect. Under reconciliation rules, Congress, to some extent, had their hands tied. Once in place, improvements will be made.

This is a gap. 80% of Americans will get a tax break, but only 17% in Richard Rubin's poll think they will see a tax cut.

Here is some interesting reading...who's money is it?

People in high tax states will pay more. Aka NY, NJ, CT, MA, CA.

No need. I can just read Matthew 5.

Depending on their income level. Only 5% of Americans will see their taxes rise. Almost all that will pay more are wealthy. Dems want to soak the rich, so what's the problem? The problem is that the progressives can't continue to move us towards socialism. What are the immigration laws in Venezuela? Try it, you might like eating out of a dumpster...

What did they cap the state and local tax deduction at?
12/20/2017 8:41 PM
$10k, I think...let me look...

The individual rates are not permanent, because they were off limits through reconciliation. They are set to expire in 2025. Most likely they will be extended similarly to the Bush tax cuts.

I like the comments section under the fox article. Some people are truly clueless about how businesses work.
12/20/2017 8:56 PM
Credit much of that to misinformation. The mainstream media has been railing against Trump's tax reform, although before he came along they were for it.

Same for immigration reform. Clinton's State of the Union address was eerily similar to Trump's talking points. Go figure...it's on Youtube. ..

Being against everything that Trump favors is not an agenda. I think it is a poor strategy, especially when investigations seem to have more dirt on Dems. ..then again, who knows? I think opposing a tax plan that helps 4 of 5 Americans is a tough sell...

Time will tell. Gambling by screwing around with a growing economy is problematic at best. IF the Repugs. are wrong about this tax bill generating additional economic growth the voters will not likely trust them with the economy anytime soon. As well, if folks don't see a tax cut in their own pockets they're not gonna be happy about the Corps. and the upper class getting a nice cut. Again, they won't likely vote Repug. again for quite awhile.

You folks that believe the Dems. will lead us to ruin better hope the Repugs. know what they're doing. I sure don't think they do.
Whatever happened to the concept of tax simplification............ we could all file on a post card!!! LOL.
Chumpie got swamped. Instead of draining the swamp he decided it was more expedient to become the head snake!!
Poor folk thinking that someone like chump is gonna help them is just hilariously stupid!

Strikeout is correct (at least to my understanding) in his interpretation of the bible. By saying, 'we need redemptive violence' and calling me an idiot for disagreeing, you called all practicing Christians idiots. Congratulations.

The tax code will be simplified. Many will be able to file on a postcard. Reconciliation was round one of an ongoing process. More changes will be made.
