I didn't mean to sugarcoat what she said. It was hateful, and unprovoked. But that Joy Reid and Keith Olbermann are on TV is wrong. They need the boot also.

I would have canned Roseanne too. There is no place for this in our society. Ditto for the hypocrisy.

She could have called her a stupid ***** and gotten away with it. She chose to bring racism into it. Unacceptable .

Trump should condemn her comments. You can't give her a pass, then rant when your side is attacked. Both sides need to hold their own accountable. We are far from that.

Doc, I agree with you completely on Roseanne and the need for Trump to condemn her comments. Hope he does a better job than he did with the white supremacists in Charlottesville.

I don't know anything about Joy Reid aside from her name. Where TV news is concerned I'm strictly a CBC/PBS guy.

I remember Olbermann from the Bush years. Never liked his throaty "Sir, how dare you!" dramatics.

Both Reid and Olbermann have made many insensitive comments. I was amazed ESPN would rehire him, but then again, they like most media outlets, have become so polarized it shouldn't have surprised me...

So Trump's first public response is to slam the ABC executive who apologized to Valerie Jarrett.

I'm sure he'll eventually get around to condemning Roseanne...

The Roseanne reboot got a lot of press due to the Trump angle. It had great ratings. Trump himself called her and congratulated her on the ratings, and took credit (partially) because the show was about him. Also he's the president, so his views on race are newsworthy.

It was a joke. I don't know or care if you have kids, let alone whether they wet the bed.
