I've got to go with Elduro on the Stanton thing, (small sample size) I went to a Marlins at Cardinals game this year, he made 2 diving catches and one he got up and threw a missle to first trying to double up someone who didn't tag. The whole section I was in all let out a "whoa" when he threw the ball, I know I left with a different opinion of him after that. He's a monster, just a bunch of muscle wrapped around some bones!! I think a lot of your judgement is media driven, he hits mammoth blasts so that's what they show you. The baseball community isn't quick to give praise to average joe's and all I hear from current and former players is good things about him. It's hard to find a power hitter who doesn't strike out a lot these days, seems like teams are willing to live with it though...better than a double play!!
