UCLA is back in play.

MJD, McNeil, Jewerl, Wendell Tyler, Kenny Washington, Tom Fears, Flipper, Drew Bennett

Easley, Eric Turner, Carnell Lake, Ken Norton Jr.

Didn't realize all of their options! High octane. We will give this another week or two, then we can see if 2 teams per owner is of interest.

Hope more people see this, this is a great concept and keeps the teams totally unique. Think we'll have a good variety of styles coming out of it as well.

I think this is a great idea. If still available, I’ll take Syracuse. A surprising amount of all time greats, especially at running back.

Might try advertising about this in some of the Open League maybe?

Nice. If I had researched more I’d probably have tried Syracuse. Don’t get me wrong, I like my Wisconsin team but those Syracuse RBs are too good to pass up.

Anyone here, please feel free to pass on this theme in the current state. I changed the title to capture the premise more succinctly. I got the original title and theme idea from none other than the great Morrissey! He has a song called Alma Matters. The theme of College to NFL is straight to the the point. I also reorganized the league description to read better. It takes time for people to jump into something new.

I sitemailed most of the list from DCardens post on owners current/past in football. And thank you also DC for giving a mention of this theme in another post of yours. I also posted in my progressive baseball league, theme Baseball draft and my college hoops world. Which led to soxyport71 joining us! It was a little odd seeing the Georgetown hoops coach take the Syracuse alum football team here! He knows talent, I see it in recruiting and on the court. Awesome to add to the group!

I'm not in any current football leagues, so you could share it there. This forum was started last Thursday, so not a bad start. We'll get there.

See the last post on page 3 for possible team and player foundations! All of those possibilities are available!

Another noteworthy item I discovered on the pro reference alumni pages--- Go to wAV. Click on that when you have a school up, it will sort in order the weighted career approximate value. This is based on their NFL career and will quickly get to the best players without scrolling through for the best available for that school. There will be some 1 hit wonders with great seasons too, so keep that in mind. And, you can always sort by position too- click on Pos to group as such. Here is an example using Sparty, you just click on wAV or Pos when it pulls up:

Adding some more names here and there-- to the list on the previous page here in this forum.

For soxyport71- The Syracuse player reps are approved for OL, DEF and ST. That is going to be a really good team!

I love these college leagues. I have played in many of them and always had a good time. I have entered teams from at least 15 colleges. Sometimes the league champion comes from a school that you would probably never think of, including my one championship team. I will pick a team and get back to you.

Perfect! Look forward to see who you choose.

And thanks for the heads up on the past leagues. I was able to find them in the archives, so I sitemailed and invited everyone who participated in that iteration. As you mentioned, I did see some of those lesser thought of schools selected wrt an NFL team construct. Very interesting! Many ways to have fun with the roster and do well.
