I got 6 out of 12 guys - which means my strategy of targeting lesser knowns was solid but my strategy of not worry about blocking other people ended up making other teams stronger.

Probably should've added a couple more stars to my roster and ended up with 4 people instead of 6.

I haven't joined this league in years, and I clearly forgot how crazy-making it is. Pleased with a starting backcourt of Wade and Frazier, but I have a feeling I'll be rounding out my squad with assorted random dudes from a bar.

Interesting to note that Capela was the most popular choice.

Love this draft. Seeing the players selected and thoughts and process of building a team is great. Playing the games will be secondary.

Yeah, I feel that way about a lot of theme leagues. Especially fascinating to see the different draft strategies in this one. Some owners grab for all the big dogs they can, hoping for some to fall through the cracks. (And some definitely do! I'm annoyed with myself for not blocking out on DeAndre and Gobert.) And others try to pile up on so-so, overlooked players early on in order to avoid ending up with brick-laying schmoes from fifty years ago.

I went for 3 guys who I would consider 1st/2nd rounders in the draft leagues (got one of them in Dikembe, missed on Chuck/Big Ben) and 9 guys who I’d look at in the 4th-6th rounds of a draft league (got 4/9 with McMillan/Ward/Butler/Tatum). Also leaned towards lower usage PGs since I knew I could get efficient high usage usage forwards later in the draft since it’s pretty abundant throughout NBA history.

Not that anyone should mimic my style since I don’t have a top-5 team compared to the others, but just sharing my thoughts and strategy.

I drafted 12 guys who have each made it out of round 1 unscathed in at least one of the past two drafts including 6 players who weren't even drafted in the 2nd round last season. Thought it was a really safe way to go to guarantee I get 5-7 good but not great players...

Apparently one other owner had the same idea and posted almost the exact same list. I had 8 guys who were only picked by one other person.

Agreed. Any team in this league that starts five players who should start in the dh52 league is a unit to be reckoned with.
