To be clear, I don't come here to hear political rants of any persuasion.
That makes sense. After all, this is a sports simulation website. Not sure how politics would be relevant.

Is Bird substantially better than Durant at this cap level? Does Moses really belong lower than the Admiral, despite the rebounding disparity?

is Bird as good as Durant? is maybe the question

As far as the sim goes I'd much rather build around Bird. Durant's oreb% is so low at his position it makes it harder to build around for someone like me who values that stat so highly, especially in a draft league.

you're talking a 2 or 3 point difference in Orb% meanwhile Durant takes twice as many FTAs and treys at the same relative usage/efg with all else more or less equal

I like David Robinson over Moses Malone since it is possible to have better efg%, def, ast%, and lower top48 with Robinson.

Durant also turns the ball over more and from what I have seen FTA don't translate as well in the sim. I could be wrong that's just from my experience and I don't pay that close attention

not really - for the relative seasons I would use Bird's TOV is 10.2 while Durant's is 12.2 both are extraordinarily low for dudes who touch the ball as much as they do - as for FTAs you are correct in that Durant wont see close to 800 FTAs but he will still get to the line more than Bird and his IRL# will definitely have more influence on opposing player's racking up PFs

also Durant's D is better. I've given up on counting FTAs, but the extra 3s help. also a little easier to play Durant at SG (if you're into that kind of thing)

the two higher usage seasons I would use for the two players have similar Ds (in the 60s) however Bird has a somewhat viable season with a 90 D rating which is higher than any KD season

I'm kind of sad midge didn't get DeAndre again. It has become something of a tri-annual tradition.

I take this back - I might use the KD season w the 78 D and play him at SG (99%)

One combo I would love to have a chance to experiment is to surround KD with two oreb heavy players at C + PF, and then two other 3pm heavy players. This line up still may be weak at offensive boards, but may force the opponent to defend further away from the rim than he would normally like. I don't think Larry Bird would make enough of 3pt to do a similar experiment, though.

I like the idea of matching Durant + Erving SF/SG where Doc's 9 orb% at SG eligible 100% makes up for KD's 2% at SF

Sorry about depriving Midge of DAJ. Needed the anchor to pursue #4!
