israel was the underdog for 19 years until 1967.....3 times they defeated 7-8 countries with a land mass the size of the united states vs new jersey.

MOST Americans believe this and it is WHY Israel has always received such unwavering support from the US. (regardless of administration!)
However, the Israeli Gov't has NOT always acted with this as it's primary focus....... and the US should NOT just give blanket support to the Israeli Gov't when the Israeli Gov't acts against the interests of PEACE in the region as THAT should be the primary focus of the US. Supporting any action that will bring about a true peace between the parties and OPPOSING any action BY either party that erects a hurdle to a long-lasting and equitable agreement that (finally) brings peace to these two factions--------one a Country with a strong Military, a functioning society and Gov't, and a (relatively) secure homeland......... and the other with just the HOPES for a small piece of LAND for which to try and establish the same.

It is my opinion that much of the more recent settlement building has been NOTHING BUT a continued effort by the Israeli Gov't to establish such a "presence" in certain areas as to erect permanent barriers to any attempt to return these lands as a base for a homeland for the Palestinians. More simple Nation building. These lands were occupied by war. While the war (from the Israeli perspective) was quite just, that doesn't necessarily compel the retention of ALL the land gained. Does it?

We are on the same page. If I were wealthy I'd support my kids being historians or philosophers but I am just an average middle class father of two. So I need them to fend for themselves.

You made my point. Liberals hate the GOP for the reasons you just listed and mostly those are Republican beliefs. So I say tangidiot is a hypocrite because he chides the GOP for this sh*t but defends Islam.

#1) I would say some, not many. Fewer than 50%
#2) Yes, most are Republicans. My wife left that faith for that reason.

bob...you are halfway there......im not the only jew that wishes israel didnt take land for settlenments....the why is the most important point........before israel went right...the palestinians were warned it was going to happen......for over 40 years the palestinians made no effort for peace and there was continued unabated terrorism......can you imagine a small nation surrounded by terrorists and armies across a land mass the size of the usa........the psychological threat is intense.....it is extremely important to understand that israel snapped at some point...they frayed to the point of a national nervous breakdown.
the settlers gained more and more power as terrorist attacks increased...to say that settlements are wrong is correct but one needs to understand what led to it.........also they started as a future bargaining chip as good faith peace efforts failed.......you should fully understand that the arab insistence of the 4 million right of return is not made up.
