Since the trade was in the off season, I would use 1962, correct?
Gonder played 4 games with the Reds in 62, but does not show up in WIS. Do I just go to 1963?
Welcome! Your wildcard options are the year 1961 or 1988.

You would build your roster using the 62 Reds and 62 Yankees and then use whatever playable season youd like for Gonder on the Reds.
