Round 2 counts twice as much as Round 1, so you can definitely win from anywhere in the field.

I updated the standings through. I think all the playoff games have taken place. I will wait a bit before I post the next update. I need to modify the spreadsheet to account for playoff results.

There is one more WC to be determined that I know of. There was a play-in game in league 2-A.

I've added the playoff points to the Standings. Let me know if you see any errors. The playoff results tables that are imported aren't as nice and clean as the standings tables. The formatting changes slightly as each round gets completed, so sometimes, I have to adjust my formulas to account for this.

I probably won't update this after every session... but will try to update it at least once per day, at least until we get near the end.

I'm told the penalty points are correct for newakwilder (for this year). That qualification column should be hidden.

All leagues except 2A have completed the first round of the playoffs (most have already played a few games in the LCS). 24th place currently has 530 points. The last column on the first tab shows "maximum possible points". If your Max is less than 530, then you have been eliminated from round 2 (unless there are dropouts).

527 maximum possible points. Oh, well. Another year of decent, but not good enough.

My best guess is that the cut line for round 2 advancement will be somewhere between 535-545 points. There are 25 people who's maximum score is 546 points. Not all of theme will hit that mark.

As of Aug 31, a.m. - nothing has changed from my statement above, but here are some more details.

Using current point totals, 17 of the top 24 have at least 546 points locked up. Of the 7 other top 24 owners, 5 still have at least one team alive and can exceed 546 points. The 2 people (currently in the top 24) that are done are rmarksduke (544 pts) and dvorr80 (533 pts).

There are 5 people outside the current top 24 that can still score over 533 points. RebJebb has one team left and can hit a max of 535. firesalt has 2 teams left, but his max is only 537.

The three people (currently outside the top 24) who have a decent shot at advancing each have 2 teams still alive. doctorcc's max is 554 pts. jetscanes' max is 547 pts and Taxman2008's max is 546 pts.

Well, after a few key eliminations, the maximum cut line is now 541 points. There are only 24 owners who can reach a maximum of 541.

The top 20 owners currently have at least 541 points. Those 20 have qualified for round 2. 24th place currently has 533 points.

Of those outside the current top 24, the only people that have a chance to qualify for round 2 are:
doctorcc (current 527, max 539) - 1 team alive
RebJebb (current 526, max 535) - 1 team alive
jetscanes (current 520, max 547) - 2 teams alive
Taxman2008 (current 520, max 535) - 1 team alive
firesalt (current 515, max 537) - 2 teams alive

That I am not eliminated from advancing at this stage means I have had my best tournament ever. I'll take that as a positive if it ends here. But if both my remaining teams win the WS, I will have a chance of advancing. One of my teams just advanced to the WS. The other is tied 2-2 in the ALCS. There's still hope!

Yep. He has 4 playoff teams still alive, two are in the World Series, and two are up 3-1 in the LCS. Pretty strong performance.
