There's a whole group of about 10-12 owners that you simply will not see in anything but an open league, and they consistently put together great teams. And very few of them use more than one (if any) of the so-called cookie cutter when building their teams (Rodman is pretty consistent these days). These guys built teams to beat the teams that were built to beat the cookie-cutter, which you and I have both agreed is not really that great, but it is effective and gets really streaky.

You build a theme league, even if it has the same rules as an OL, you get a different environment without many of these guys playing these teams, which is the entire point of me saying you can't do it.

You don't have the motivation to do an OL. That's fine. I don't have the motivation to make a private theme league, track all of these owners down and convince them to join and bring their teams like they would if they expected the anti-cookie teams and then fill the league.

You don't grasp the concept I'm trying to get across to you, and that's fine. Just remember that teams in OL are much better than they were a year ago, and that what worked for you back then won't necessarily work anymore.

I don't gamble.

I understand what ur saying, I disagree with what ur saying. It's disappointing that u don't gamble because i do (and gambling increases my motivation for challenges). I've never failed one of these OL challenges before (the Karl Malone and Bob McAdoo challenges for example).

well, you're in the minority and won't play unless it's for money or in some league where the people you can't beat won't play, so I guess that makes you 100% right and everyone else wrong, since you won a couple of other challenges in the past.

Awesome, as usual.

Just to clarify.... and ODL has never, NEVER only had 10 posts in a season. Do not disrespect the King of Kings!

(o.k., so you meant OL.... lol. I agree with whomever posted how bland and boring they are. You could buy 24 teams and have your own league and get more out of it; and better conversation too).

Dominating and winning an OL means squat though I do give credit to those who do it by using a sim poison or challenge.

Hey don't disrespect me Coley. . I've never won an OL. : (

I think OLs are as challenging as most theme leagues and more so than many of them. The big exceptions are draft leagues, in which you have a huge level of parity... instead of having 10 dominant teams, a few average and a few terrible teams, you usually have 20 good teams, a couple great teams and a couple terrible teams.

The thing about those OLs is that those dominant teams are generally top notch. Occasionally you get stuck in a bad league, though.

whoops...of course i meant ol....odl is the reason i signed up for wis(i originally thought all leagues were like that and was disappointed to learn otherwise) and would never disrespect the goat league(although the odl may have a new challenger in scuds new league...crazy so far)

It doesn't matter because you won't play them.

And to be honest, they're unlikely to play him because few of them venture outside open leagues.

Kind of happy to see a little trash-talking in these forums, though. I miss the trash talking leagues ghost_dog used to run.

I don't recall seeing ncmusician in any league, theme or open. I know he's in the bowis right now, though, so maybe he'll start playing more.

Besides the current BOWIS, some of the leagues I've been in within the last year have been a blacklist, $52M, $20M, $6M max, etc. It seems we don't like the same types of leagues.

There isn't anyone that I refuse to compete against in the nba sim. Who are these people that you think are so good?
