Okay, I'm in.  Although I think it works better -- or is at least funnier -- if you make everyone use the 1962 Mets.  We not only all start at the same dark place, but we decimate the WW while replenishing it with multiple versions of 1962 Rod Kanehl and Vinegar Bend Mizell.

The other 5 rosters are equally crappy. No shortage of really lousy players to cast into oblivion...

Crazy, you of all people should know that OLs and themes have separate waiver wires...

I'm fairly certain it's been like that throughout recent memory...  Maybe I'm wrong.  My understanding is that all themes share, and all OLs share, but they are separate.  But again, that could easily be wrong.  Easy to find out for anybody with teams in both, but I haven't had an OL team in 6 or 8 years.

Checking the afternoon waiver wire selections available in an open league and comparing it to the one available in my theme, the waiver wire is exactly the same for both leagues.

The Knowledge Base says the same waiver wire is used by all leagues.

That's a relief.  Any WW theme would lose 50% of its fun, and 10% of its dignity, if Open League owners aren't being ticked off.

Absolutely...we have 10 signed up so far...

Maybe we could start a new theme league - OL owners ticked off by WW-based theme leagues !

My 2010 prog team was penciled in as a contender (2nd highest salary in the league) so imagine my surprise when after 51 games we found ourselves last in our division, 10 games out of 1st and 8 games back of the wild card leader, with a piddling 21-30 record.

Not helping matters? Our 0-15 record in 1-run games!

Update: The regular season just ended.  We had 22 more 1-run games after the above post, and went 11-11 in them for a total record of 11-26 in the close ones.  

And that 21-30 record?  It improved somewhat after a couple of player acquisitions.  We went 80-31 the rest of the way to finish 101-61!
