Trump: Worst President Ever? Topic

I think solar is great, except for all the wildlife it kills. Wind power is good, other than all the birds that fly into the props. Nuclear is cheap and good, as long as it remains contained. No power source is without some discrepancy.

Advances in technology will provide more options. Has only been 100 years since Rockefeller switched his focus from lamp oil to gasoline.

I remember what real smog looked like. We have improved our air and water quality (remember Lake Erie?) much in the past 50 years.

We can and should do more. Alternative energy sources will evolve. Better designs, better storage, and more cost effective. But you and I require transportation to work on Monday. We need clean and cheap power. Our immediate needs must be met, with a focus on the future. There are different opinions as how much to do now, how much can wait. We all know a shift will come.
How does solar kill wildlife?

Seriously?! If killing a bunch of stupid birds means I don't have to pay $3.50/gallon for gas, KILL THE BIRDS. Besides, if they're too dumb to avoid being barbecued by solar panels or chopped up by wind turbines, it is merely an acceleration of natural selection. The only downside is that soon we might be overrun by the intelligent birds who learned from watching their friends get cooked/chopped, and turn rogue.

Nuclear Energy. It's efficient and clean... And doesn't kill all the birds.

And creates a whole new problem (and political football) with the irradiated water and other waste products.

JUST KILL THE BIRDS.

Killing birds is bad for the ecosystem.

Nobody is "killing birds". They're killing themselves.

When someone jumps off the Golden Gate Bridge to their death, do you blame the bridge builders?

The solar farms and wind turbines have a function. Just because some birds aren't evolutionarily intelligent enough to NOT KILL THEMSELVES, doesn't mean we should abandon/restrict the technology.

Well, you seem a little slow so I'll use little words.

That's three isolated solar farms. Multiply that by hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, if we were to go "full solar". It creates a problem.

I'm not some "save the birds" guy. But common sense has to be applied if we're killing off wildlife at dangerous rates.

Do you think increased police presence signals something good just happened or is about to happen?

Because there wouldn't be an increased police presence after the first attack?

Seriously, it's a poorly worded sentence. As I said in the other thread, maybe that's how Brits talk but the entire structure is wrong.
