Also, your paraphrase of what I was saying is reductionist. The point is that the policies which have been supposed to fix things since LBJ have not worked, and continue to fail. A Trump presidency represents something new and different, and potentially good. The upper middle class lefties are the people who have supported/elected the leaders who have "championed" said policies while things haven't improved much.

Somebody needs to dig out the Moynihan Report and focus on creating jobs. Trump can do that.

My lamp isn't working. I could replace the light bulb but I do that every year or so and it keeps going out. In the spirit of "trying something new and different," I'm going to jam ******* a flat-head screwdriver in the electrical socket and see what happens.

Trump is a successful businessman.... He'll do just fine. He can negotiate better deals.

He's as successful as a lottery winner investing in an index fund.

It takes a liberal to take something broken and do something stupid with it.

Its funny..... The assumption that Trump will get weaker as the field consolidates. The media and the pundits have been proven wrong on this over and over now. They still don't understand that not ALL people that like another candidate, hate Trump.
Proves the point:

Nearly half of the supporters of Ohio Gov. John Kasich would vote for Donald Trump, not Ted Cruz, as their second choice, according to the results of a Quinnipiac University national poll released Wednesday. And more than half of Cruz's backers suggested they would do the same with their man out of the race.

I'm not talking about Trump and he is as conservative as any New York Republican can be. Christ, he was a Democrat until 2010.

Cruz, Carson, Paul all conservatives.

54% of republicans say the party should just back Trump.... 33% say they should bring in sometime else if contested

When you focus on 1% or less of his business dealings I guess you would feel that way. I tend to look at the overall picture, it's more helpful.

I don't trust the establishment. Trump needs the 1237.

From Bloomberg.....

A Bloomberg Politics national poll shows 63 percent of those who have voted in this year’s Republican primaries and caucuses, or plan to do so, back the billionaire’s view of the nominating process and think the person with the most delegates should win, even if he lacks a majority.

You know why all this noise about Trump's business record falls flat? Because during this campaign, he has DEMONSTRATED his ability.

Obviously, Presidents must handle diplomacy with other world leaders, who often may not agree or be cooperative. Look at what Trump did to the Pope. The Pope happens to be a formidable political operator. Trump crushed him. Does anybody else remember the way Kasich was practically $hitting his pants in one of the debates, where he was reciting a rehearsed attack on Trump and started to stutter? Trump replied "I don't have to answer to this man." Kasich looked like he was going to cry. Similarly notable things have happened with all the other candidates, including creepy Lyin' Ted. Trump is a killer -- he'd be a great negotiator.

Finally, Trump has spent very little money (until recently) -- his campaign has constantly been FAR under budget vs massive spending against him. Does that mean anything to anyone? Or does it not count, as when John Oliver assailed the (3rd party, independent) valuation of Trump's wealth?

By the way, SHAME on John Oliver, and his asinine, empty PC monologue after the Paris attacks, when he said that the French would fight back with their food and their cheese, and simply described ISIS as "a$$holes." Now we're going to have, "Belgium will fight the a$$holes with their chocolate!" Oliver lost all credibility with me for this, and I'm tired of hearing about his bit on Trump, which was a hatchet job. He should STFU. I'd like to know what he thinks of 9/11. Probably believes it was Bush and the CIA, trying to find a way to goad the country into invading Iraq.
