i couldn't agree more - they are "fixing" fixing them and yet they are the worst they have ever been i think...

I didn't even check until now, but one of those 8-0 teams was your Le Moyne team that defeated Anderson. Very odd.

i agree they are totally flawed... but if you look closer, the teams are really closely rated. from #10 to #40 is separated by like 22 "votes" total. weird. I think they are trying to do the right thing by making them more fluid, but have overshot it a bit here. They'll get it fixed eventually. keep sending tickets in for weirdness you find.
but most importantly, i should be ranked and jj shouldn't, until further notice. glad to see they got that right...

I would suggest having the coaches pick the Top 25, but game planning is already time consuming enough, not to mention you would have to vote every 2 days.

Only rule is that you wouldn't be able to vote for a team in your own conference. On the other hand, if that was the case then most people wouldn't even be that interested, since the rankings have no effect with regards to seedings and RPI.

It should be a very simple system, which isn't too complex. W-L record, margin of victory with some consideration to SOS. This really shouldn't be rocket science.

The fact that I started 0-2 and moved from #13 to #12 doesn't seem right at all..that really shouldn't ever happen.

wronoj we will meet in the NT this season - it's long overdue! paybacks!!

yes alex - i think that Anderson example is a great one...someone ticketed that and they said they are still working on it...we'll see...

what they're trying to fix is the old problem where if you were ranked #1 pre-season, you had to lose 5 or 6 games close together in your schedule to drop out of the rankings. and if you were not ranked or receiving votes pre-season, you had to win 20 in a row to be #24. and then your first loss would knock you out. Then we all compound the problem when all the good teams just play each other in the noncon schedule, and the rankings system has no idea what to do with jj's team or taz' team, who is highly rated but has already lost. i think they'll get it eventually.

jj, i have no desire to play you in the NT. but i will assert my PAC domination tonight when I beat Marywood...

i got ennam, but now have taz and bugs on back-to-back nights. not liking my chances too much in either of these games. My FT shooting is so bad it has to catch up to me eventually.

wronoj, I was thinking about this when I started to schedule games. You, Bugs, and myself play each other every season. We also have several common opponents on a regular basis, but not always all at once. We should find a 4th coach, assuming both you and bugs are up for, and set up a 3 day round robin each year w/ bragging rights as the main prize. Heck, I'd even go for a $10 WIS GC every year if we could get all 4 coaches to agree to it, and figure out a tie breaker in the even of a 3 way tie.
Any interest? We'd have all of this season to figure it out, and find a 4th. I believe both you and bugs play jjboogie on a regular basis. That would work for me, or there are probably several other coaches that could fill that void.

If they other 2 are in, we'll make an event of it. Just need a good name.

I'm in - I would agree to a friendly $10. If wrono is up, the winner could almost get a 5-pack out of it.
11/15/2007 4:54 PM
done and done. is it $10 per loser or $10 for the winner? i know i have taz and jj next year, cannot remember if i have bugs, but i think so... i am split 2-1 home and away now, alternating seasonally-- need to figure out how to get you all split, too.

I say $10 for the winner, if we can agree to have everybody on board for 4 seasons (or more), we could just rotate who pays. I'll step up to the plate and offer forth the $10 GC for the first season. I guess we could go $10 per person, but that would be like doubling the cost of your season every year.
anyhoo, we've got time to figure it out, since we can't set it up till next year. I'll keep it tucked away in my noogin and sitemail the involved parties towards the end of this season.
