i have a top 11 that i think give the best chance to build a winner

1. wilt
2. lebron
3. curry
4. shaq
5. kareem
6. k malone
7. howard
8. jordan
9. cp3
10. drob
11. moses

12-16. rodman/bird/durant/barkley

the next group are great players but arent as easy to build around as the top 11...and you probably wont get a chance at the giannis/mchale/pippen/kg/magic/kidd/gilmore/kawhi/big ben group that goes late 1st/early 2nd

you also miss out on all the 2nd round studs that drop to 3rd round

I agree with almost all of this(we all have different rankings). I have a top 12 and think that drop to 13 is a large one.

I'm proposing #15 as the worst due to Average Draft Position. At pick 15 is where the largest drop occurs with ADP. Having said that, we all know who the 1st rounders are, but have, sometimes wildly, different evaluations/rankings of them.

14	Kevin Durant		12.8
15	Charles Barkley		16.8

The next biggest drop (variance/uncertainity) in the first round is from 21 to 22

21	Dwyane Wade		21.0
22	Kevin Garnett		25.0

But I value #22 higher than #15 because you get to pick again at #27

I liked it the best when banditone (I recall) drafted Dikembe Mutumbo at # 3 and then said that he wanted to "try something different."

I like Ron Harper but which point guard would you have to draft with him to make it work? Probably not Oscar right?

somebody had to take the Barros mantle from me. I don't want that on my resume forever.

Based on the last 30 or so seasons of this league, it looks like Wilt should clearly be the #1 selection. I'm surprised LeBron has no rings in this league.

Okay, this is the second consecutive year I've drafted those three players, and the third time overall with Wade and Sanders. I think I am done with Wade for a while. It's early in the current season, but my team is getting its caboose kicked.

It's possible I have drafted Gerald Wallace more than any other player, and Chauncey Billups is not far behind. And I've built around Dwight Howard three times, twice for championships and once for barely above mediocrity.

How about drafting Dwight Howard and going for last place? I should have tried to copy cat one of your teams that won the league with Dwight instead of trying to go my own way.

I'm guessing the the only owner to win the league with Oscar Robertson will always be 98average. He's banned so he can't duplicate that team.

LeBron with no rings in this league . . . well if I get the # 2 pick next season that might change. Although I tried using him once and thought that I had a great team . . .that got eliminated in round one of the playoffs.

there's a world in which the original lineup starts playing .600 ball.......but don't hold your breath. indeed, when other owners like my team, it underachieves. when other owners don't like my team, it overachieves.

Huh, I've been wondering where 98 went. If he really was banned, I assume it was for being a cyber-bully. Blah.

Two of my three titles in this league came from building around Dwight, but I had a third Dwight team that made the playoffs but didn't get near a title. (And my third championship came when I traded out of the first round altogether.) I need to branch out and try other building blocks. I pretty much never end up in the middle of the first round...that would be an interesting place to experiment.

eh it wasnt a strict ban...if he wanted to come back i would let him...pretty sure hes long gone tho

basically i got tired of him pining for funk to come back and run the league....i never minded his insults but when you needle me about running a league i dont get paid for im not gonna have it...told him one draft(after he named his previous team "i miss funk" or something like that) that he can go ahead and wait for funk and gave his spot to someone else on the waiting list...he never came back after that

I won with Oscar. Coincidentally, I beat 98 in the finals with him.
