Speaking of Strat-o-matic, they have a deal where a gbA++ (which would normally be a double play grounder) turns into a single if the baserunner is being held on base. Does anyone know if something similar is built into the game here?

I don't remember if that is the symbol or not, but they do have a negative consequence built into their simulation for defensive adjustments we may make in certain situations, ie. corners in, infield in, holding runners on base, outfielders playing deep or shallow, etc. They also rate pitchers for theirability to hold runners on, and outfielders arms as well. Again, overall, I like this simulation better, but I would wish the admin here play some there and see if they could not incorporate those features into this simulation.

I had a game this morning where a guy who was never caught stealing ( 4 SB/0 CS) was thrown out by a guy with a C- arm. Do they have something that penalizes perfection in small quantities?

There is no such thing as statistical perferction in the sim. A player with no RL HRs can hit one in the sim. A pitcher who never walked anyone can walk someone in the sim. And of course players who never got caught stealing in RL can get caught in the sim. If you want great basestealers you need to look at both SB/SBA and SB/100SBO.

I have noticed that high percentage stealers with few SBs rarely duplicate their SB attempts.

I've had guys with numbers like 11/1, 14/2, 17/3 finish the season with <5 SB attempts. And I've had them on "5" all year.

i suspect that some of that has to do with speed. if they are in the 60s or 70s then it seems like they don't run as much no matter what you tell them to do.

That was the whole point of this thread. If I have a guy who is 16/1 or 18/2 or 9/0, I would like to see him run against the weaker armed catchers.

He was smoking crack....no other possible explanation.
