Why doesn't WIS just raise the OL standard to $100m, and drop AAA entirely? Would any of us really miss it? After you've scouted a set of AAA players a few times, the thrill is gone...

The problem as I understand it was the "fatigue strategy."

The obvious solution is to make fatigue penalties prohibitive.

Why didn't WIS go with the obvious, sensible solution
There are several reasons why this is NOT the obvious solution. A lot of people are convinced it is. However, it actually exacerbates some of the problems. First, if a team unintentionally underdrafted (ie new users) those teams would become even less competitive than they are now. That wouldn't fix one of the problems the minimums were intended to fix but rather make it much worse. Second, it would make early-season fatigue crippling. Even later in the season an extra-inning game can leave your bullpen a bit taxed, and 2 in a row can leave your entire 'pen in the 80s. It is already unrealistically difficult to win a game after 2 consecutive 11-inning games. Your "solution" would make it borderline impossible.

I have to admit, I'm not a huge feature of the PA/IP minima. That being said, I don't miss the Coors teams with $75+ million offenses that seemed to be in 2/3 of OLs before the change.

That would stink, IMHO. Throw out any semblance of players performing anywhere near their stats. Each game would be a HOF game. No thanks. That's bubblegum.

I had not heard that. I thought they were going to change to IP for fatigue instead of pitches; hadn't heard of any prospective changes to the fatigue system for hitters.

I think it's brilliant. Make it $90M and let us pick our own backups. The AAA thing is a complete lottery. When I see somebody's AAA pitcher with 20 saves or 10 wins it just strikes me that the owner did nothing to deserve that. It's supposed to be our league and our talent at drafting that wins or loses. Two equally drafted teams, one gets a couple great AAA hitters and a good pitcher - it can make a BIF difference. I had a AAA Jon Nunnaly hit .390 with 12 home runs. Did I do anything to deserve that? Hell no. So I agree - get rid of it altogether, throw in a few extra bucks and let us pick our own. Or leave it at $80 and make us fill the roster with no AAA. That will stop the under drafting of innings and at bats, and make the selection of high priced superstars more costly making teams more realistic.
